  1. I love my 220.  Can't go wrong with a Sig.
  2. Does anyone know of a gunsmith in the West TN area that specializes in 1911s?
  3. I have one in 9mm that has been absolutely flawless. I only wish my Kimbers ran as good.
  4. I have a Kimber Tactical Pro that could use refinishing. The finish didn't hold up like it should. I talked to Kimber but I'm not sure the new finish would hold up any better than the old one. I would appreciate your input as I am not very knowledgeable about such matters. Thanks.
  5. Look at the M&P from S&W. Good trigger, good accuracy.

    My First Pistol Help

I had a P22 and had a lot of fun with it. That would get my vote.
  7. Mine was stovepiping as well as failing to feed. I was using factory FMJ ammo.
  8. I really like the looks of the PPK. I owned one and it constantly jammed so I sold it. Anyone have any success with this gun? Inquiring minds want to know.
  9. The rail is part of the gun, It is the Buck Mark Field 5.5. I need something between the sight and the rail. I like the idea of some sort of tape. I don't want to mark up the rail. Thanks for your suggestions.
  10. I am putting a red dot sight on my Browning Buck Mark 22. Any thoughts on how to keep the scope from scratching the rail? I would like to be able to remove it at some time and not have an ugly rail on this beautiful gun. The rail goes the entire lenfth of the gun so it is an integral part.
  11. I have a Barska Red Dot now on my Ruger Mark II. It does well except in bright sunlight. The dot washes out in certain conditions. Any suggestions as to a better solution without breaking the bank? I am considering an Ultradot 25 but am open. I thought a tube type dot might not be as problematic as the holographic. I am new at this so I am very confused.

    XDM Carry Question

    Thanks for your input.
  13. Anyone carry the XDM full size 9mm? I just bought one. It seems too big to conceal but I am used to smaller types. Would appreciate your input. Am considering swapping for a Glock 19.

    Glock 19 SFS

What does the SFS stand for? I see them advertised at Buds but can find no explanation,
  15. Thanks, I zeroed at 50 ft to start (about 17 yards) since the 25 yard side was not available, and then shot at 15 yards and 10 yards. Thigs looked pretty good at these ranges. I will see how this works this weekend and adjust as necessary. I will be shooting steel plates not NRA.
  16. I want to use my Ruger Mark ll for steel shooting. I put a red dot sight on it but wonder at what range should it be sighted in? I am thinking about 20 yards but since I am new to this sport I need a little help.

    Tiny 9mm pistols

I have had PM9, MK9, LCP, P3AT and Sig P238. All are fine guns but I now have the PF9 from Kel-Tec and must say I really like it. It is accurate, has a good trigger pull, is easily concealed, shoots 9mm ammo and is half the price of the PM9. It bites when you shoot it like a PM9 so it is not a shoot all day at the range gun. I have yet to have a problem with mine. The Sig 239 is not in the same class, it is larger but is fun to shoot and very accurate. It all depends on your needs. I got sick of looking for .380 ammo.
  18. Have a 238 and like it very much. Recoil is easy, it is pretty accurate for a little gun and fits in the pocket nicely. Colt Mustang holsters and mags are interchangeable as well.
  19. Had an EMP. It was a great gun but I felt I needed something larger. I ended up buying the Para 18-9. I put 500 rounds through it to break it in but ended up sending it back to Para for work. It just wouldn't feed. It is extremely accurate and feels good in my hands but I experienced 20% failure rate after break-in. Hopefully Para will get it to run for me.
  20. I am in the market for a 9mm on the 1911 platform. I am looking at a Springfield, a Kimber pro carry and a para PX189s. Anyone have experience with these? I am really looking at the Para because of the high capacity mags. Would like your input.

    New Para Carry 9

I'm not really into 40 cal. I like 9mm. I do have the LCP .380. This is a nice little pocket pistol but 2 mags is about all I want to shoot at one time. It takes a little while for the feeling to come back to my hand after that.
  22. Ed has retired. His son is working as a gunsmith at Dowdle .

    New Para Carry 9

Well I bought a new Para Carry 9 from my local "pusher". It is a nice shooting pistol. I put 70 rounds through it yesterday. From 20 feet there was no "x" ring left on the target, just about a 2" hole. Very accurate. Excellent trigger (DAO). Very smooth and crisp. It doesn't reset as quickly as a single actiion but isn't bad and stages very well. Some FTF and FTE but not a lot for the first time out. The only problem that may cause me to sell it is the grips are too small for these hams at the end of my arms. It is very difficult for me to grip. I have looked on the internet for replacement grips from Hogue but they don't list the gun. Without larger grips, the gun will not be not make for a daily carry. I still will use the KAHR K9 which is one very fine gun.
  24. You'll definately get the chance if the weather ever gets back where we can shoot.
