  1. It was blazer brass from wally world.

The rounds just arent as clean on the outside either. I dont want to use gummy as the word but that is the closest probably.

I thought that it might have been the brass.

I will say that the batch I bought this week was much better looking brass.

  2. I had 3 boxes of .45. To me it occasionally didnt seem to charge the weapon hard enough for it to go back all the way into battery.

Was it the Blazer Brass by chance? I have thought that about the brass myself. Seems like a slow burn or something...

  3. If you dont reload the Balzer is fine. I bought all the Blazer Brass (.45) that wally world had this week.

Some say that Blazer is "Dirtier" than other ammo... but I claen my guns after a range visit anyway so that is not a deal killer for me.

  4. Did the application & fingerprints on Dec. 24th ... Merry Christmas to me!

    So today makes three weeks.

I'd applied for armed guard certification a few weeks before that - so my b/g check & fingerprints had already been run through some state system somewhere not long ago ... the girl at the fingerprint place told me that would help speed things along.

I turned mine in on the 22nd so maybe mine will come next week too. I called on 1/09 for the follow up call. I was told that everything was back except the BG.

  5. I like my Kimber's.. I have two pre-series II Kimbers and have added a Grand Raptor II (internal extractor)to the mix recently.

My two Compact (Compact Custom & Compact Aluminum) are both Great shooters for 4-inch barreled guns. They will feed about any ammo and I have never had any issues out of either of them. They are accurate as I can shoot and a great carry size firearm. However, I do change out the recoil springs (Wolff XP for 4-inch) every 800 rounds or so in the 4-inch guns just in case.

I hope to shoot the Raptor II soon to see if the Gen II gun will act the same as my other two. I know that they all have MIM parts in them but that is "ok" for now. I have only ever had one MIM part fail and that was in a Colt gun. I do hope to get an Ed Brown Kobra Carry soon... but I want to see what Phillip at Goodlettsville gun shop can do on a custom .45 first. My next .45 will not have MIM parts so that leaves Wilson, Ed Brown, Nighthawk, and a few other custom builders in the running.

  6. great gun, and my gunsmith builds them for him. If you want one we can get you one done for about 1/2 price. It just wont have Ricks name on it.

Cool I will swing by your shop and look at your inventory. Shooting you a PM now.
