  1. I know that it won't do any good but I sent Bredesen another email.
  2. Poll: Do you agree with Gov. Bredesen's veto of the bill to allow guns in Tennessee bars? Yes 186 64% No 107 35%
  3. Pelosi burns thru a lot of it in this...
  4. It still says "Transmitted to Gov. for action." @ Tennessee General Assembly
  5. I've been surprised at how quiet the media has been on this since the House passed it and it went to the Governor.
  6. Thanks Crimsonaudio! That's cool! I'm always ready for SEC Football even if this year has the potential to really suck!
  7. With Carroll bailing out to avoid the penalties I'm hoping that this will be what we have all wanted to see happen to them for years and if LK gets stuck with dealing with it then good for him!
  8. As soon as the new garage door is up there will be no evidence of the flood at their house but I talked with a friend in the real estate business and he thinks that it may be 2 years before we would be able to sell a house in this neighborhood. There were 4 houses already for sale before the flood that were not selling. Renting would only bring about $850 per month and they may need 2k-3k per month to pay for their care. Thanks Farman! Bronker, I'll check with my ELP.
  9. Why does Vandy have only 11 games?
  10. I'm done with LK. He is just a bad memory. I will be watching to see what penalties that the NCAA hands to USC.
  11. My parents are in failing health and will soon need to be in Assisted Living at the least. We were hoping when the time came to be able to sell their home and use it to pay what Long Term Healthcare didn't cover. We knew that we were in a bad real estate market. Well now that they were flooded that is going to make selling their home almost impossible at least for a few years. They didn't get water in the living area but it flooded the crawl space and the garage. They are in a flood plain and had insurance. They have a "Structural" policy only and a $2k deductible and it runs them about $925 a year. I don't know what it would be if it covered the contents too. If I were looking for a home like this one I wouldn't waste my time even looking at it. I wouldn't buy a house that required an extra thousand a year or more when there are plenty of homes available that are on high ground. I just saw a commercial about the reverse mortgages but I know if I call them they will make it sound like the greatest thing going. I was hoping that someone on here would have already researched this product and could fill me in without getting a sales pitch. Have anyone here checked into these and able to shed some light on them? I'm not really expecting this to be a good option but I need to at least know all of the options. Thanks!

    1960s

That is awesome. Lots of great memories from that era.
  13. I have also put a hole in an old CD and hung it where birds were trying to nest at my parents and that worked too.
  14. Put a rubber snake on the nest.
  15. I had a S&W 686 stolen in Dec of '06. Insurance paid me for it. Then in April of '08 I got a letter from Nashville PD that it had been recovered and I could come get it. I called my insurance agent who then called the insurance company who had paid the claim to see what they would do. They told the agent that they would not want to dig out the files and not to worry about it. My home is much more secure than before and all of my guns are now in a safe at all times if they aren't on my side. If it is ever stolen again I know that I better not ask the insurance company to pay for the same gun again. I did have to do another background check before the PD would release it to me but there was no charge.
  16. Good job! Where did you take your class? What did you think about the instructor and the overall classroom part of your day?
  17. I used to laugh at that stuff but my parents are there now and getting worse by the day. I have a hard time finding humor in it now.
  18. I believe you are right but I also hope that Bredesen has seen the writing on the wall and just allows it to become law without his signature. Either way it will become law so you are correct, it doesn't matter.
  19. Can he veto it while over there and fax it back here?
  20. Yeah that circle-slash things is the major part that I don't like but that seems to be what we will have and I'll live with it until something better gets passed in the future. Anyone know if Bredesen has left yet and if he vetoed the bill?
  21. Not in Nashville. The Sheriff in Nashville doesn't enforce the laws, the MNPD is the one who enforces our laws here. I sent mine to the Chief of Police.
  22. But at the prices from about 10-15 years ago it would have been a lot of money. I've got an Earnhardt 8X10 that I got autographed back in '99 when he came here for a Sundrop appearance that I could have sold for $300 or $400 if I had sold it just after he died. Now I couldn't get $50 for it. I didn't collect it to sell it and that is the way I am about all of my NASCAR autographs and collectibles. I never expected to sell them. My point is that timing is everything!
  23. NICE! I've got an SP2022 40cal and absolutely love mine. I hope to add the 9mm sometime later when I can get some extra $$. I'm hoping to get COOP to do some polishing on mine soon.
  24. I have had my C&R for about a year and have not bought any guns. I did fax a copy of my C&R to a few places like Midway and they have it on file. They also have me listed as a dealer and there is an automatic discount on most all regular priced items that they sell. If it is a sale item then there is no additional discount. Of course if you are looking for some high dollar optics, for example, the discount is larger than if you only want a $10 item.
