  1. See post #5 for update on need

I'm trying to install the USB on my M&P and the rear sight will not budge. I used the supplied assist that came with the DCAEK but it still wont budge. I've used a punch to the extent I'm comfortable with and I don't want to go any harder with it. I've lubed it through the set screw hole and still nothing. Yes, I'm moving it toward the ejection port side.

Anyone have a rear sight removal tool I can come borrow for about 3 minutes?

  2. I looked into this option back in April sometime when things started getting crazy. All the sites that sold the unfinished parts said they were back-ordered until October or later. Things do change but you may want to verify you can get the parts before making plans.

I was actually considering buying a mill and making it cnc to make one completely from scratch but ARs are fairly available now (if still at higher prices)

lots of sites have both lowers and jigs in stock

  3. They create demand by standing in line and buying the ammo. If you want the price to drop and these people to stop gouging, everyone needs to stop buying ammo for a while and let production outpace demand. It will starve these guys out. But everyone needs to stop.

We're going to start a price war between gas companies!! Everyone should avoid buying gas on Friday!! That'll teach 'em!! Post it on Facebook and get your friends to do the same!! This will work guyz!!

    That type of stuff?

  4. I'm sure Midway is charging more for shipping than it actually costs as a way of making additional profit this way they can't be accused of gouging us on ammo costs.

I'm not falling for it. The Wal-Mart near my house got 10 bricks of .22LR in just the other day.

    This

It is like ebay sellers that sell a product for $1 then charge $45 shipping to get the $46 they want for a product. Same story, different day.

  5. As long as people are willing to stand in line for ammo and pay those inflated prices, the madness will continue.

Unless someone has zero personal defense ammo, I don't understand why they would stand in line for the possibility to buy some ammo. Those standing in line are just as much of the problem as those buying for resale, along with those willing to pay the inflated prices.

People standing in line are doing it b/c that is what they have to do to be able to get ammo these days. How are they the problem for doing it and shooting as opposed to someone that catches a box as they're getting groceries in Walmart?

  6. I had a problem with brass to the face with my new m&p9. I took the extractor out, cleaned it, reinstalled it, flexed the spring a few times and now it ejects at 3 o'clock. I was also having problems with it shooting about 6" low for the first 50 rounds. Brought it home, cleaned and lubed it and now it shoots as true as my glocks (given you understand the differences in the sights). I think the m&p feels better in my hands than my glocks do, but I still need 500 rounds through it before I'll carry it.

  7. Olivet Baptist Church in Chattanooga is having a "town hall" meeting tonight to discuss "stand your ground" laws. The news has already had a story on it and showed the pastor talking and saying, "These laws have got to change, but for them to change we all have to be registered to vote."

We need to continue with our own education about why these laws are needed. Why anyone would want to be required to flee before defending yourself is beyond me. The only thing I can think of is that all of these people are severely misinformed to what these laws are used for and how they had zero to do with the Zimmerman case.
