  1. I was thinking about going to the next gun show in Louisville, Ky and was wondering what was involved in a Tennessee resident purchasing a handgun at one of these shows. Anyone know?

    Cleaning Guns

I was just wondering. I field strip and clean my guns after every trip to the range. How often should you full detail strip and clean your guns. Or should they go back to the factory for that.

    Winter car gun

Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a problem.

    Winter car gun

I keep a pistol in my car 24/7. Right now I have my Sig P6 under the seat where I can get to it. I do not carry it back and forth, I just leave it in the car. Any down side to the temperature changes in the car and its effect on the reliability of the gun? ( winter-summer)
  5. Just saw where an 8 year old boy died when he lost control of an UZI at a gun show in Mass. Apparently the boys father and an instructor at the show let him shoot it while the father was taking a picture. He had never fired a weapon like this before and lost control of it and shot himself in the head. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH PEOPLE. An 8 year old shooting an Uzi. In the first place how traggic for the family. This is NOT the kind of publicity our sport needs. I am sure the media will be all over this.

    Sig P6

I have been reading that some p6s don't feed hollow-points very well. So I took mine this morning to the range and shot a box of Remington JHP thru it. Could not have performed better. No jams. Shot every time. I also shot another box of FMJ and again no problems. I believe that these pistols are the best buy for the money out there today. I am now trying to decide if I want to replace the grips and maybe refinish the slide. Or I may just leave it the way it is. It still has about 95% of the orginal finish.

    Sig P6

I think it is the same gun.

    Sig P6

Sorry. I left my camera at work. I have seen a few of these around. I guess they are like used cars, I would want to look them over before buying. I was just lucky that the range where I shoot had one and let me try it out.

    Sig P6

Went to the range today to shoot with a friend. While there they had a Sig P6 in the gun case for sale. I put 75 rounds thru it and fell in love with it. Needless to say I bought it and took it home. Paid $350 and am elated. It shot as good as any gun I have and was in great shape. It had a date stamp on it and looks like it was made in 1982. If you are looking for a very good 9mm at a good price you may want to try to find one of these.
  10. The holster is made of a material that will cling to the liner of your pocket. I draw the pistol as I apply pressure against the holster and it comes out cleanly with the Nemesis still in my pocket. It works very well. My only concern was the safety of this type of carry.
  11. That is a great looking holster. Naw, staying home today.
  12. I have been using a DeSantis Nemesis Pocket Holster to carry my Kahr PM9 in cargo pants. Anyone ever had a problem with this type of carry?

    Drool

I have a P345 and LOVE IT. It shoots great and has been 100%.
  14. I just bought a Kahr PM9 two weeks ago. No problems with jams but mine went back last week for peening on the barrel hood. Seem like good folks at their service center. Call them and give them a chance to fix it. They did want me to send in a copy of my receipt with the gun. Don't know if not being the original owner will make any difference or not. Good luck.
  15. Thanks greenego. That looks like something I would like to attend.
  16. Thanks for the info. I usually drive a van so I guess I need to get a lock box.
  17. After retiring, I started spending more time on my Civil War hobby. Love to travel to National Battlefield Parks such as Gettysburg in Pennsylvania. I know with my Tennessee HCP I can have a loaded gun in my car in Pennsylvania but when I enter a battlefield park such as Gettysburg should I unload the weapon and separate the gun from the ammo. Would this still be legal? Then I guess I could reload when I left the park area. I am not sure how this works.
  18. Carryconcealed.net still shows Virginia honors the Tennessee permit.
  19. Reliability Just got back from the range trying out the new PM9. The first round FTE. Needless to saw I was floored after only one round. Then shot another 99 rounds of Winchester WB and then 150 rounds of Remington FMJ. After that first round it ran like butter. Boy thiis little gun rocks. It has more than a little kick to it. I can't imagine shooting the .40 version. It also really wears out your shooting hand. This is not a pistol you take to the range and shoot a hundred rounds thru for fun. I now have shot 250 rounds. ( suggest 200 for break-in). The last 249 have been flawless. Accuracy My groups at 17 yards were within the 7" circle. This is good for me. I am not as good a shot as I would like but at least at that distance I can get it on taget. I did shoot a little low and to the left. However, I don't think the gun had anything to do with that. Conclusion All in all in was a very good first trip for the PM9 to the range. I am going to clean it, lube it, and into my cargo pants it goes. I am very happy with it.
  20. Taking it to the range tomorrow.
  21. Well....went over to the gun store and picked up my new Kahr PM9. It was packed in a plastic bag with a LOT of oil. The guy at the store told me to swab out the bore and take it to the range to shoot. I thought I would wipe it down and lube it with my Weapon Shield before taking it out to shoot. What do you think? Ok as is or clean and lube first.
