  1. Congrats Gunner. Have fun and be safe.
  2. Just take your time. My wife had never held a pistol much less fired one until I got back into shooting. I did the same thing you did showing her the stories in the paper about home invasions and car jackings. Finally convinced her to go to the range. We started off with a .22 and then I let her shoot a couple of my 9mm. She was scared of them at first but after a few visits got more comfortable. Now she has her HCP and a S&W .38 snubby. I would just suggest taking your time with her and after a while I am sure she will get more used to the noise and recoil. Have fun and be safe
  3. It is no wonder the Government never gets anything done.

  5. I just sent him an email.
  6. Great CC pistol. Small size but plenty of power.
  7. Congrats of the class. Get a pistol and holster that are comfortable. Be safe.

    Ruger P345 .45 Auto

I have one that I have had for about a year. I have about 500 flawless rounds thru it and it is one of my favorite guns. I think it is a lot of gun for the money.
  9. +1 on the PM9. Great pocket pistol.
  10. Well....my son's mother-in-law made the call a few days ago after almost two months. They had lost her paperwork. They had no record of her ever applying. Good thing she had copies of all her stuff.
  11. Let us know how the class went.

    HK P2000

Purchased an HK p2000 today and when I got home I field striped it to clean and lube it. It has something I have never seen before. A white nylon bushing or washer on the guide rod and spring. The folks where I bought it said that was normal. Does anyone know what it is for?
  14. Had always enjoyed shooting and hunting when I was young. As I got older I really didn't care for the hunting anymore so kinda got out of shooting. When they opened Gunney's ( indoor range) in Maryville I decided to go and shoot. I had a ball. So at 58 years old I took the class and got my HCP. Now I shoot weekly and am really enjoying the sport. It really boils down to having a place to shoot for me. Without the availability of this range I probably still would not have got back into it. Better late than never....

    P89 New ruger owner

I have never had a P89 but I do have a P345. I believe Ruger makes a fine pistol. I have never had any trouble with mine. Keep it clean and well lubed and it should last a long time.
  16. Congrats on the HCP. Be safe.

    favorite vs accuracy

My Sig P6 is the most accurate pistol I own. However, my favorite is the Kahr PM9 because I carry it the most.
  18. If I were going boating I would wear a life jacket. Chances are I will never need it. But....why take the chance.
  19. Wife was printed on Feb. 26th. She made the call last Tuesday and was told 14 days. HCP came in the mail today.
  20. Number is 615-253-5221. You need your drivers license number. GOOD LUCK!!!
  21. I use an Excel spreadsheet. It tracks all of my pistols. I keep track of total rounds, type of round, and any malfunction. It takes very little time to update after each range session and I always know how my guns are performing.

    I finally did it!

    Congrats..Be safe.
  23. My wife took the class and was printed the next day. That was Feb. 27th. She called this week and they told her it should be here in another 14 days. If that is the case it will have been about 6 weeks. So maybe your wait will be a short one. Congrats on getting your HCP.
  24. So....are we back to not being able to carry in National Parks? Wonder how this will be resolved?
