  1. I love my PX4 full size but It's a bit large for cc. The grip is also just a tad too large for me to draw it from my waist band and point it right on target so I'm seriously thinking about getting a smaller gun to carry. I'm not impressed [don't like] the smaller bobcat and tomcat Beretta's and the Px4 compact grip is no better for me.

I'm looking at Glocks on the web because I want a carry gun that won't let me down. From everything Ive ever read Glock fits that bill. I will not spend my cash on a gun that I can't shoot comfortably.

My concern is that I have never handled a Glock or considered one before because of the DAO striker fired action. I'm old school I guess and I've never, ever liked a pistol with a spur less hammer, especially revolvers. I don't know how well I'd like a hammerless auto.

  2. You ought to drop in on the get together there Saturday morning. I think a few of us will be there (Shelby Countians).

That may be possible. It's definitely gonna be too hot to fish. Is this a one time gathering or something done all the time? tell me more.

NEVER MIND. I just found about the call to arms in the events forum. I is a dumb newbie!

  3. Getting fingerprinted for the carry permit is the only thing that is not clear to me.

What I gather from here is that the license station will send me somewhere else to do the printing, no additional cost.

Now here is what I don't know. Do I now leave the ball with this third party and expect them to run with it or do I have to take copies of the prints back to the DMV ?

I'll be applying at the Millington location in Shelby County in case anyone can provide any feedback.

    Thanks

  4. Do I need to provide a birth certificate a long with certification of completing a state approved safety course? From what research I've don on the web it seems I have to to prove that I'm a legal United States citizen.

I wasn't born in Tn, lived here 20 years , am 40+ years of age . I don't have and have not needed a birth certificate for anything for forever.

What else do I need or can i expect to cause me time and aggravation to let this state extort me out of my money to exercise my 2nd amendment rights?

  5. I have a full size in 9mm. So far so good as I haven't had any issues. Its a real easy gun to shoot. There is a lot you can do to the trigger with these things just as you can on the 92 series.

What can I do with the trigger ?

  6. Just got one, full size, not one of the compact models in .40 cal. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet. What an impressive piece! Excellent fit between the slide and frame, the magazine inserts smoother than any other I ever had and it looks great. I just today got a box of 100 Winchester 165 gr FMJ rounds and will probably hit the local range in a couple of days. I've read a half dozen different reviews online today and not a one of them had anything bad to say. I am SOOOO Jazzed!!

  7. I bought a 7400 in 30-06 three years ago for whitetail hunting. It's very accurate, 1/2'" groups at 100 yards. I've only put about 50 rounds through it and the only problems I've had is with the bolt seating. When I chamber a round if I don't make sure I pull the bolt all the way back and let it fly foreward it may stop just short of fully closing. When it was brand new it gave me this same problem when feeding after firing, but it seems to have loosened up and stopped doing that.

  8. I just recently learned about this site on TNDEER, where I usually spend my time, mostly lurkiing. This seems like a nice place so I thought I'd like to join yall's group. I'm in Milington, which is just outside of Memphis. If that isn't a good reason to be a Tn gun owner What is ? I'm glad to have another place to hang out with people that share the same interests I do.
