  1. I'm hunting woods only. From what I'm hearing they are moving a lot more since yesterday's rain. I sure wanted to be in my stand this morning! I took off this coming Monday to extend my weekend hunt. Just requested first week of muzzleloader off as well.

Can't decide whether I want to hunt the edge of my clover field or try the deep woods. Supposed to be 10 degrees cooler in the morning so I will be in my stand.

  2. Fishing seems to be pretty tough right now (bass wise). I know a lot of good buddies who are having trouble getting on them right now because of the heat. It's cooling down though, so we will see what happens.

  3. Not offended, and also laughing when I posted. Internet sucks for perceived tone of voice.

I was, however, sincerely hoping there wasn't a tinge of truth in your joke. [emoji6]

Indeed, not the slightest tinge of truth.

  4. lol, because I support freedom I'm a Bernie supporter? Get outta my face with that BS. I'm a gun enthusiast that supports logical marijuana regulation. It's a plant. Where are all the beer plants you pick your beer from?

Wow, sorry you don't have a sense of humor, my friend. I put LOL there for a reason, I thought your comment was funny. Who said I wasn't pro marijuana? Why do you feel the need to be verbally hostile before you even understand the comment? I apologize for offending you.

  5. I appreciate the advice. I'm trying to get all of the stupid out early. I feel I'm better off than many others at my age even though I do plenty of dumb things. Heck I wish there were more people my age on TGO.

I just graduated, so I'm probably right at your age range. Let's be honest, you don't need alcohol to have a good time. Does it make things more fun sometimes? Sure it does. However, I'm with you, anytime you can set an example to people by not drinking, go for it. I commend your attitude, my friend.

  6. What a great sport to get into! If you are anything like me, you need more than flat water to get thrills. I am more of a whitewater kayaker myself, but gain strength and balance through flat water sessions every so often!

  7. So after my poor attemp at humor I decided to get a beer. I do not drink all too often but after a horrible week I thought one would be good.

Got up went to fridge, spoke to wife, talked and petted the dog, Went back sat down and read the response.....realized I never did get my beer. This week has sucked!

Haha, how could you possibly forget a beer?

  8. Wow, only 4 native non venomous snakes in Tennessee! They must get around a lot.

Just kidding, I am sure you meant 4 species of native non venomous.......

    :bowrofl:

I am a little confused, I think I said 4 Venomous, not 4 Non Venomous. I believe what I originally said was correct, am I missing something? Haha

  9. Frankly, I love snakes. I think they are fascinating creatures. Most people who are scared of snakes just haven't spent the time to learn how to identify the ones that are venomous and non-venomous. Just like most creatures, they mean no harm to you, unless you threaten them.

If you know it's not venomous, which is fairly easy to figure out, why kill it? They are like your local pest control around your house.

  10. Technically true, but the coral is identified as poisonous by the color pattern not the eyes. And there's no way that snake could be mistaken for a coral.

Just don't misidentify a king snake as a coral snake, that could be fun.

  11. Round pupils, so it's not venomous.  Kinda looks like a Northern Water Snake, but it could be something else.

My understanding is that the round pupil rule is only good for Pit Vipers. The coral snake (very venomous) that resides in the U.S. has round pupils. So, all elliptical pupils are venomous, but not all round pupils are non-venomous :)

  12. SOME people 100 percent take their right to bear arms beyond what is reasonable. Myself, I would not even consider the idea of having an exposed rifle cradled in my arms in the event I was approaching someone who was mysteriously parked in front of my house for an odd period of time. Legalities placed aside, what the man did was disrespectful and extremely uncalled for. If nothing else, carry the rifle in a safe and non-threatening manner (if even possible). On the other hand, none of us know what this guys issues or mental state are, so I am trying to stay objective here.

  13. When I saw the one at Anderson Tully I was sitting on a 12' ladder stand with a single shot BP rifle. Come to think of it, I think that was the last time I hunted up there.

I am an archery guy and I definitely wouldn't want just a compound bow on me when I come in contact with one.
