  1. Yeah, it's open at the barrel end, but it's kinda tapered at the bottom. I don't think a longer barrel would fit through the opening. This holster is really formed to fit the 9c exactly.
  2. I didn't know if the belt loops would be something I'd use or not, so I ordered them just in case. I can see what you mean about the extra bulk, though. I'll definitely try moving the clips around to see if I can get a better fit. I think one of his belts may be the next thing I look into. Thanks again for the heads up about Bullard holsters.
  3. Mailman brought my new DM Bullard holster today. It was about eight weeks from the time I placed the order to delivery. I'm very pleased with David's work and can't wait to get it properly broken in. Thanks to Oh Shoot for touting this holster. I think I'll be very happy with it.
  4. My exact sentiments. If they don't want me to be armed in their establishment, then they don't deserve my business. I'll patronize other businesses that respect my right to defend myself.
  5. Hats off to DavidCBaker for exercising his, as yet unregulated, freedom to spreadsheet. It may not be for everyone, but that's what this great country's all about.

  7. The background check will either be approved or disapproved. If you're approved, no worries. If you are disapproved, you can appeal to the TBI for the reason you were denied. There is a form on the TBI website that you have to use to file for the appeal. As for transporting a firearm without a HCP, you got some good advice from lowbud.
  8. As a recent purchaser of an M&P9c, the deciding factor for me was the ergonomics of the pistol as it related to my hand. It simply fit my hand better. The funny thing is, I had fully intended to purchase a G26 when I went into the toy store. I never really considered purchasing another polymer pistol. I'd shot a G26 and was satisfied with the accuracy. I knew the legendary reliability of the weapon and I wanted to make myself like the Glock, even though it didn't really feel good in my hand. As luck would have it, G&L didn't have a G26 at the time. Daniel suggested I handle the M&P compact and I knew I'd found the right pistol for my hand. I only have a couple hundred rounds through it, but it's been flawless so far and is a real pleasure to shoot. The fact that it's American-made is icing on the cake.
  9. Necessity is the mother of invention. Kudos on a great set-up!
  10. A man after my own heart. Seriously, using the combination of Firefox, Avast, and regular Windows updates, I haven't had a virus or trojan in a long. long time. I did get a virus warning the other night on Amazon.com, so I guess no site you go to is immune from the DB's.
  11. I agree that most people don't shoot their guns like many folks on this forum do. Lotsa guns that are purchased are an impulse buy and the fascination quickly wears off.
  12. Sounds like a great deal...everyone oughta have a.357mag wheelgun. Can't wait to see the pics. Congrats!
  13. I have the LCP also, and finding 380 is near and dear to my heart, too. Academy Sports in Rivergate has them on a regular basis. They sell out pretty quickly, though. The last time I was in there, they must have had twenty boxes or more. Seem like they run $16-17 a box. If you're in Greenbrier, Guns and Leather usually has some, too.
  14. Finally got to shoot the m&p9c I acquired last week. Put a hundred rounds of Federal and WWB downrange with no FTF's, FTE's, etc. Pistol performed flawlessly. For me, the medium backstrap feels the most comfortable and the gun points very naturally and just plain feels good to shoot. Even though I like the feel of the magazine extensions, I seemed to be more accurate when shooting with the magazine without the extension. More testing is in order to determine if that was a fluke or not. All in all, I'm very pleased with this gun and can't wait to "test" it some more.
  15. Academy in Rivergate has a good supply of almost everything, including the mythical .380. Don't know how long it'll last, they had 10-20 boxes around noon.

    Stolen Firearm

That sucks...I hope the guy's mexican carrying and shoots himself.
  17. If you're thinking a revolver, any of the smaller S&W's or perhaps a Ruger LCR. I'm hearing some good stuff about it.
  18. Sweet looking piece...Congrats!

    new toy!

Thanks for the reply, UTVOL87. I've seen pics of the rig you're talking about from some of OhShoot's posts. Will definitely check it out!
  20. Great little gun! As small as it is, there's really no reason not to carry it.

    new toy!

Yeah, I traded the P07. It's an great shooting gun, but it never fit my hand to suit me. The m&p9c with the changeable backstraps was the ticket.

    new toy!

I did a little trading with Daniel today at Guns & Leather and walked out the door with a new M&P9c. Awesome gun and an even more awesome place to do business. Daniel is first class, as are all the folks I've dealt with there. Mandatory pic... Any holster suggestions from you m&p9c'ers?
  23. Glad yours finally showed up. I drive to the ATL several times a year and it gives me great piece of mind to be legally armed. BTW, been to WM yet?
  24. Seems most of the area WM's have .40 and 7.62x39. Finding .380 is still spotty at best. I've had luck finding it at Academy Sports more than anywhere else.
