Still a little unsure about wether or not I was actually eligible for my HCP after my DUI, even after all of the replies I got, I went and took my class on Feb 13. I was fingerprinted on Feb 15. Today, 30 days later, I open my mailbox to find my HCP!!!!! Excited as a kid on Christmas. Thanks for all of the replies I got on this. This includes the helpful ones and the entertaining ones I could not read.

Got mine in today after 30 days! Fingerprinted on Feb. 15.

Tuesday will be 4 weeks for me since I get my fingerprints done. Ive seen several posts where guys have gotten their permits within 4 weeks so im hoping to see mine this week. I probably wont be that lucky. Bought a new S&W M&P 40c around new years to carry but so I cant wait for it to come in. But now im thinking about a Ruger LCP or a KelTec P3AT.

Good motto. I've learned my lesson with this dui. It has been a huge inconvenience and has hit the pocketbook pretty hard. And there will never be a firearm on my person if I plan on having a beer.

Thanks guys. I agree with you Fallguy and JeffL but I wanted to get as many opinions as I could before spending the money in case it was possible for me to be denied. I did talk to two instructors that said I should be ok as well. JeffL, thanks for that link!

I am looking to get my hand gun carry permit but, was convicted of a DUI two years ago. Does anyone know the law on this or can anyone help interpret the law.
