  1. Christensen Mesa 300WM 24 inch barrel with seamless break Christensen Scope Rings Zeiss Conquest V4 3-12x56 Ducks Unlimited Logo on Bolt Handle and Floor Plate. Rifle has only ever been shot off a bench for the purpose of being zero'd at 200 yards and becoming familiar with the rifle. Rifle has been shot approximately 80 times. This rifle is extremely accurate and an absolute blast to shoot. The only reason for this sale is I have another rifle in the same caliber now with greater sentimental value. I will include 60 rounds of 180 grain soft point ammo which is what the gun is currently zero'd with. The rifle comes as seen in the pictures with case, and all owner manuals. You will be hard pressed to find any wear on this firearm. 1600 , I have no interest in breaking the package a part. Open for trade for either a 338 RUM or CZ550 Safari 416 Rigby, or VX6HD4-24 with Firedot Duplex.
  2. This gun was built with the sole purpose to end a grudge match back in the day. I use to do quite a bit of long range shooting and there was a mentor of mine who never believed a semi-automatic .308 could move into shooting consistent sub MOA groups. Out of youthful ignorance, and pockets full of money with zero social obligations, such things can be built. The upper is a DPMS 24 inch bull barrel with a tuned brake. Lower is a CMMG Gen 2 Timney Trigger with 3.5 pound glass break Heavy H2 rifle buffer with AR Stoner tuned Buffer Spring Magpul PRS stock Ergo Tactical with Palm Shelf grip Nikko-Sterling 6-24x56 Illuminated reticle with locking zero stop turrets Burris R.E.P.R scope mount. 10 round PMAG This firearm is a joy to shoot, recoil is VERY light due to brake, heavy buffer and tuned spring. It is not difficult at all to shoot and trace the vapor trail through the scope. This rifle all together has probably 400 rounds down the pipe. The rifle is extremely accurate and has been one of those rifles that makes shooting extremely fun whether a novice or someone with experience. The rifle needs nothing. I will include 60 rounds of 168 HPBT ammo which the gun is currently zero'd for. The rifle will eat whatever you feed it. I have only ever used brass case factory loaded ammunition. 1400 dollars as is. 1200 dollars less optics
  3. I appreciate you articulating that you felt I was arrogant and condescending, because I am trying to see how I ruffled the feathers as I have. Maybe I did step in and start speaking from generalizations and people took that personally. That was not my intent. I am just another dude, with an opinion, I apologize if you thought I was trying to do anything more than encourage other gun owners to let their voices be heard. I think what has surprised me is it feels like this thread in someways has made my point with those original overgeneralization. I know the firearm community is a very wisdom rich community, some of the nicest people I know have come from meeting people at gun shows and shooting benches and it bums me out when I watch as the left characterizes us as being a community that is rude, condescending and unable to articulate our position. I know thats not true, but I would be lying if I said, I havent experienced some of those accusations in this thread. Thank you for sharing your thoughts in a way I could respond gregintenn
  4. I showed up and was transparent with who I am, but based on how I have been treated I didnt feel comfortable having identifiable information that could harm me, my family or my business. Richard has been the only one that was willing to treat me with a shred of respect and have a conversation
  5. any idea on build date? Those older M70's are freaking amazing. I have a 1966ish M70 in 30-06 that still will hang with my christensen's and R700's
  6. Heard loud and clear, there's a big club here and I am not in it.
  7. Did you even read my first post? I was a participant in a discussion hosted by two non profits? I was sharing a survey they created from it. It's not my poll? It's a poll that came out of the discussion I was invited to participate in. I am not linked to these organizations other than being invited as an expert on Mental Health to speak about the roll Mental Health plays in gun violence.
  8. I am confused how anyone would want to be a part of the TNGO community at this point. My post was simple, I was invited to a discussion, we had it, I believe more people walked out with an education in why the 2A matters and we made what was previously conceptual, tangible and thats how you build allies. After that discussion I have posted about the experience and this survey in different FB groups for TN hunters, gun owners, etc. I was pointed to TNGO being a place to get more eyeballs on the project so that hopefully the data would be influenced in the favor of TNGo's, Because we know that data can be targeted and if shelby, davidson and knox are the only counties participating, that data would look unfavorable and regardless would be preached as the truth. I miscalculated though, I didnt think I would be cussed at or have my character insulted simply for participating. I have been active in trying to respond to this thread in good faith to provide clarity on why I think things like this matter while noticing that many of the replies by others highlight that people are not actually reading anything I am writing. Instead members of this forum have taken a new member and have insulted me multiple times for absolutely no reason.
  9. No one nominated me? I didnt seek this experience out, the opportunity came to me via email. I feel like this whole thread has been a mischaracterization of my intent. I am not the expert authority in anyone's life, I was trying to invite all of you to have your voices heard? If you want to participate, that is great, if you dont, thats your choice. I am perplexed on what seems like a large majority in this thread are frustrated that I participated in this discussion? Because, I am not a life long Tennessian? I am too young? I am _________? What have I said in this whole thread that infringes on the 2nd amendment right? Where have I articulated for compromise? Because we should be having discussions and trying to educate people on why their 2nd Amendment right matters? I had a wonderful conversation with Richard at TFA, It's great that in TN the state is blood red with a super majority in the House, but those days are numbered. We need to be recruiting people into becoming gun owners or better understanding what that right is and why it matters. A right that is not utilized is a right easily sacrificed. Being unwilling to educate the moderates is going to be what leads to managed decline here at home. 2. I only know how to represent myself, I only know how to hold true to my own convictions and moral integrity. I believe in the God given Right to self defense and the right to bear arms.
  10. PSA, they just work and their customer service is amazing.
  11. The reason I showed up at all was because I have worked as Mental Health Professional for the past decade, and I believed that I had personal experience that needed to be shared. It seems that most of the focus when it comes to gun violence and safety is focused on restriction and banning access to firearms. These are reactionary interventions. What is interesting to me is that over the course of the last 100 years, the Gun Control Lobby has gotten everything they have asked for, and yet, there is no statistical evidence that suggests any of these policies, laws or restrictions had a positive effect. What frustrates me on top of this revelation is the fact that now the Mental Health community is being drug in as the new scapegoat. We are easily the current community that is used as political pawns to further an agenda hell bent on removing constitutional rights from American Citizens, but we as a segment of the population are not actually afforded the resources needed to have healthy sustainable mental health. Case in point. I could have housed every homeless Veteran in this nation, provided them a case manager, therapist and PCP for 10 years with the amount of money we have spent in Ukraine. It is my belief that if this country truly proactively invested in the mental health of this nation we would see a sharp decline in overall self-harm, active psychosis criminal activity, assaults and murder. Instead, the Gun control movement is looking to further ostracize the mental health community by placing arbitrary limits on the people courageous enough to seek help for the mental illness. Just as recent as the special session, SB522 was aiming to place red flag restrictions on individuals prescribed certain anti-anxiety medication. These medications where no where near the level of potency as say anti-psychotics and would have made it highly likely that an individual such as a stay at home mother, or everyday joe would be unable to purchase a firearm or ammo, not to mention the fact a lot of these anti-anxiety medications are prescribed off label for things such as acne and IBS. Do I agree with everything that is on the survey? No, but thats not how the process works, people have a right, even if I disagree to bring their ideas to the table. It doesn't mean I accept those ideas, and I will do everything in my power to lobby against and work for education and dismissal of ideas that will infringe on our individual liberties.
  12. This is why I joined here! Because I want to be a part of that! For over 13 years I did volunteer in a community called Calguns which pretty much fundraised and drove awareness for the CRPA. I am use to a local and state government that is hostile to its citizens and has no problem disenfranchising its constituents. That’s why I was interested in participating in a discussion. How many conversations do we have where we read a statistic and go “who the hell did they get to answer those questions?” I thought this was a chance to influence a better outcome for what could have been a study that did not pull from a pool of individuals that truly represented TN Gun owners.
  13. I am continuing to be confused because I have not spoken once about "giving an inch" or infringing on the 2A to accommodate anyone? Yet that seems to be the only responses to my posts. You do realize that most of the cases that are being won in front of SCOTUS is coming out of CA right? Funded by the California Pistol and Rifle Association. Which spent the last 2 decades completely rewriting the curriculum on public outreach and Pro Gun Activism, the proof of which is in the pudding. Your rights here in TN are being further enshrined by people willing to have conversations in an attempt to educate people. Thats all I wanted to invite people to.
  14. It's interesting you didnt quote me here? There is no smoking gun here, I am not some plant. It flabbergasts me that we would rather sit in silence as our rights are further eroded than be proactive. Because we want to scream? "Shall not be infringed." Congrats on articulating the complexity of constitutional law in the space needed for a bumper sticker. Is the statement the truth? Yes. But to the uneducated do they understand it? No, and you are articulating that you are unwilling to educate them on that either. When you are unwilling to have even basic conversations because someone asks a question that you feel is hostile, you dont further educate that person, you dont potentially build an ally, what you actually do is almost guarantee an adversary. This is why the whole experience we had over 3 days was nothing short of inspiring. People who came to the table and said they were for banning firearms and severely restricting firearm ownership, walked away 3 days later setting up a time to meet with a firearm instructor to learn gun safety and proficiency. We need to find ways to encourage people to utilize a right that they previously felt they had no need for. Why cant we have Pro Gun Activists? Why can't we encourage firearm education and training to urban communities? Because the absence we leave as the Pro Gun Community is being filled with BILLIONS of dollars from the Gun Control lobby doing community outreach. They are willing to meet and have wonderfully ignorant discussions with the people you are unwilling to talk to. For 100 years the Gun control lobby has gotten everything they have wanted....and our Pro Gun strategy is to??? Stay silent? To do nothing? Cause? It's been so darn successful with the NFA, GCA? Brady Bill? AWB? I am NOT for ANY infringement on my or your 2A rights, but I am up for discussions that try to build inroads to people exercising a God given right that they were previously not utilizing.
  15. I think some how we got off on the wrong foot. You are right that I am new to the forum, but where else am I going to find a collection of gun owners in TN who need to have their voices heard? Feel free not to participate but dont complain a few months from now when data is shown on the floor of our House of Representatives that public opinion in TN shows “X” because you chose not to participate You have a ton of special interest money pouring into this state right now and this is probably the most influential way for your NO’s to be counted. The Pro Gun community in my opinion has abdicated its responsibility to show up and debate, debate doesnt mean concessions. It means speaking truth and facts over and over again. Idiocracy wins when one side uses silence as a strategy. because when you dont show up, you will be assigned a narrative.
  16. Hello Fellow TN GO's I was invited to participate in a 3 day discussion with 11 strangers on Gun Rights, Public Safety and Mental Health. Our session was also timed with the special session on gun rights and safety being done at the Capital a few months ago. The two nonprofits behind this venture are big in the policy sector and have strong political connections throughout the state and at a national level. These two nonprofits are currently trying to assist in policy creation here in TN focused on gun rights and safety. https://convergencepolicy.org/ https://startswith.us/ The whole experience was a blessing, and I think most of us will sit back surprised by the outcomes we walked away with. For the record I am a firm 2A supporter, I take deer with my 450 Bushmaster AR as often as I do with my bolt action or muzzleloader. I am an Originalist through and through. But I think we as gun owners need to take a proactive stance on engaging others and trying to facilitate conversations that lead to education and awareness for individuals who either are currently not utilizing their 2A right, or whom have only ever experienced 2A supporters as brash, bombastic, A-holes. I am tired of the same people who are trying to infringe on my rights being the expert source for what I believe as well. It's time we meet their energy level with engagement, and a desire to provide clarity. Entrenchment has been a game of managed decline for us for a while. There is an interactive part of the process that Starts With Us (main nonprofit behind the project) has created, so I would love it if you have time to answer a simple survey. I just want the results and data collected to be fair and balanced (full picture of TN.) Not just maybe the more activist side that has been very vocal to this point. It should be pointed out that it asks for your TN zip code because they are actually going to present this data at the capital at some point and it would be good to have a robust picture of what Tennesseans are actually thinking. https://cs.startswith.us/citizensolutions/tn/issue/2
  17. I have been in the great state of TN for 3 years now but finally found TNGO! I look forward to the friendships and community that can come out of a place like this! my passions are long distance shooting and Muzzleloaders. have a great day!
