  1. I knew a girl that hit up with id theft so bad the only way she could afford to get out of it was to change her name and get a total new identity herself. lady bought a house and was in prison last i heard.

  2. did he use his ss# on the form. alot of people don't like to but it makes the report come back as accurate as it can. many people just like to use their names and someone else may have the same name and once it pulls that up i heard they won't cross ref. the address or lic# to see if there are more than one person with that name. I guess another reason could be stolen identity (don't know about that one). seems i read somewhere on here about a person being a witness on a police report and it showed up and got his name kicked back. i was under the impression that if you sent in the appeals form they had to tell you why.

  3. The latest American Rifleman, did an extensive article on all these .380 pocket guns and the results, while not surprising to those of us that have actually shot these guns, was relatively surpising coming from the NRA. They found that all, but the Rohrbaugh, were especially finicky and required extensive breaking in periods before thay were ready for action due to multiple failures to feed and eject. Couple this with the difficulty in finding ammo to break the weapons in with and the discomfort of actually shooting these things, they are impractical at best even though they are popular (I own a P3AT).

I was shocked that the NRA published this article. They usually rubber stamp every POS gun that goes on the market because they rely so heavily on the donations from the weapon producers. +1000 to the NRA on this article. They finally got some cajones.

I think this is the norm with those guns, however mine has performed flawlessly (pf9), never had a ftf/fte with umc, wwb, and speer gold dots. that being said i would recommend a smallish revolver and being a guy that would want to shoot my wifes gun on a regular basis i'd get something that was +p rated or could shoot .357 if I wanted.

  4. apples to oranges..the pf9 which i carry everywhere i dont have my g19 is not fun to shoot. no offense to female shooters, i'll compare to my wife. she is inexperienced with firearms, doesnt shoot much at all. she can shoot the glock all day, but won't go near the pf9. way too snappy. never fired a lcp myself, i would imagine it being more user friendly.

  5. my old buyers guide (not sure how old) that lists the bushmaster acr has it listed for 1400. i'd say it'll push 2k for a while though given the anticipation.

no good without pictures you say... buyers guide photos (dislpay until april 09 issue #71)

  6. all good stuff here, but do check the mag detents for the catch...dont know if its the same for a .357sig but my brother and i both have g19s, same gen. we also both have all 15rd factory mags, but they are different gens.. all of his look brand new and fit flush in both our guns, all of mine leave a gap in both our guns and the mag detents are wearing out, eventually i imagine they won't seat properly.

also, certain ammo really f's up my feed ramp, but your problem doesnt sound like that. being a diehard glock fan i always have a handful of spare recoil spring assemblys.:)

  7. don't know why bushmaster still hasn't put these out there for the civilian market... they bought the masada design from magpul years ago and its been in buyers guides for several years with no availability. i seem to remember hearing about remington making the military version (acr) maybe a year ago. too bad fn got the jump on the civi market with the scar.. maybe the bushies will be cheaper

  8. didn't know how to word that title and don't know if this is the right place but here goes...

I grew up around norris and would like to start going to the range up there.

    1. i don't have very many gun cases

    2. if i'm going to drive an hour to go shoot somewhere i wanna take just about all i got.

I thought about just trying find somewhere that sells foam (like really big blocks of it) cutting some slits in it, stuff it in a big plastic storage box and throw it in the back of the jeep. that way i wouldnt be lugging around a half dozen rifle cases etc... anybody know where i could find some foam material like that?
