  1. For the Falcon coated bullets?

I was told today that I can't use TiteGroup with coated?? The man told me that TG powder had a "way too fast" burn rate for coated??? I just ordered 1500 to give them a try.

    Thanks for any help

  2. And another story...

I bought my Dillon 550 used for $350 two years ago. I only shoot 9mm, IPSC, IDPA & Steel. I was buying 115gr Fed from Walmart by the case that ran $11/50+/-. I thought I would never reload buying my ammo for that price. But almost everyone that I was shooting with reloaded so I thought why not.

I buy all my supplys in bulk. The range where I do most of my shooting gets up a bullet order once or twice a year for Vallent lead.

    This is MY break down:

    125RN $38/1000 = 3.8

    TiteGroup Powder $20/lb.  3.8gr   around 1,800 rds/lb  = .011

    Fereral SSP $30/1000 = .03

All I use (and have ever used is range brass..So

Add that up and i'm loading for .079 cents a round. $3.95/50rd box

That price goes up when I'm shooting 115gr MG, but was lucky that I ordered three cases before the crazy hit.

I really like to reload my ammo but if you find everything you need at the right price, you CAN save $$$

Plus, have ammo to go shoot every weekend.

  3. If you have an unfinished basement that you have all of your reloading powder, primers... What do you keep the relative humidity? I have no water problems in my basement but with the weather we are having in East TN i had to plug in my dehumidifer and run it a few days. After three days I went down to reload some and check the dehumidifer and it said it was 70%. I like to keep if 50% or under. Off to Lowes I go.... So back to my question, What do you keep your basement?
    Thanks
  4. Dillon dies, Lee crimp die

Markinnash, I took a Q-tip up into my seating die (been loading some 125gr lead) and got quite a bit of red lube out. Not enough to change OAL but some... Should I cleand and oil the inside when i'm this lead?? The Valant 125gr lead are caked with a red lube (almost like Crayon melted on them). MOST of the time I load MG 115gr FMJ and have never had this.

    Thanks

  5. Question, How many rounds do you have on your current reloading dies? I'm still new to reloading and have 15,000+/- thru my Dillon 550. I oil the 550 every 800-1000 rds but, never have done anything to my dies. Is it time to do anything to my dies? Or just keep loading?

    Thanks

  6. Sounds like you are wanting it for rifle? I know zero about loading rifle. But If pistol, I don't see how any can top a Dillon. I'm new to this and only have loaded 10,000 or so 9mm only but love my 550. I bought the 550 with all the bells. Still not sure why I did not get the 650?? Anyway why not just call Dillon and get in line for one. I can say I had a "c" pin break on top of the decaper, called Dillon and in two days I had a box of extra small parts. I would bet the CS would really be hard to beat.

  7. I load only 9mm. I bought my my "decked out" Dillon 550B for $400 from a Man going on to the 650. Payed for it the 1st year or so. I was buying Fed 115gr from WalMart at $12+/-. I load 124gr lead for $3.35 per box and 115gr MG for $5.50 per box. Soooo you first question is YES. As far as "hard to learn" what everyone else has said, and also ask the good people on this board. Most folks here (not me unless it's about a 550B, MG boolets, TiteGroup powder and Federal Primers...) know what they are doing!! And someone WILL have the answer to your question. Happy loading

  8. Does anyone have a single stage press laying around you would sell. I need to have one to use for de-capping my 9's. I am going to the SS pin brass cleaning. I know I don't have to cap them, but if you do you end up with "new brass". Thanks, TimT
