Any thoughts on McCormick beating out Jon Lundberg for Majority Leader in the House? Lundberg is my Rep. and has been very good on gun legislation. I'm not too familiar with McCormick but his resume on the State Legislature page looks pretty good. Lundberg loses bid to be House majority leader - Kingsport Times-News Online

You see a man in front of your business.....not in uniform.....with a gun on his side.....talking on a cell phone....you have to expect trouble!! It happens on TV allllllllll the time!

I've had mine for about two years and carry it almost all the time. I've probably put 300 rounds through it all together without any issue at all. I did put a crimson trace laser on it and like it very much. The only thing I dislike about the gun is when I shoot mine, after about 10 shots, my trigger finger is beaten up pretty bad by slaming into the trigger guard when it is fired. And the trigger pull is pretty tough as well. But I love the gun for its concealability, and so far for its reliability. If you are getting this for your wife, you better make sure she can rack the slide. Weaker hands may have trouble with that. Good luck.

Sorry LagerHead, I hope your boss didn't catch ya on the net while at work. If he did, just make him watch the video and he will forgive you this one time. -

I may be going to the Craftsman's Fair in Gatlinburg tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knows if the Gatlinburg Convention Center is posted. Is the Center owned by the City and covered by City Park rules concerning carrying, and if so, what is Gatlinburg's law on carrying in/on City Park property? Anybody know?

I Love it!!!

As far as I'm concerned it would be impossible to ride "Alum Cave Trail" on a mountain bike. But I have learned to never say never. There is probably somebody, somewhere, who would try doing it but I don't see how it could be done. Just too rough and steep with a lot of drop-offs on either side that would land you in a world of hurt if you got slightly off the trail.
-
Well I hiked up to Mt. LeConte yesterday on the Alum Cave Trail. All I can say is WOW! Really an amazing hike. Scenery is wonderful but the trail is pretty rough (for me), but I toughed it out and made it to the top and back in 7 hours, which included about 45 minutes eating and looking around up at the Lodge area. And the dining room and office are both posted like was mentioned on here. I didn't see any signs anywhere else. 25 yards from where one of the no guns signs is posted is another sign warning of the presence of bears in the area. That just doesn't seem right, but that's the way it is.

Such a bummer. If they had to call the law in the event of trouble, how long would it take for them to arrive?

Festus was the bestus!!

Wouldn't do it under any circumstances.Sounds like I'm good to go then. I hope it turns out to be as good a hike as I've heard it to be. The worst thing I dread is running up on one of these:
-
Well after wanting to hike up to Mt. LeConte for the last several years, I've finally decided to give it a try before I get too old to make it. And I need some advice. I plan on taking the Alum Cave Trail some time week after next and I plan on carrying my LCP and/or my Ruger P94. There should be 2 -5 of us going on this hike and most, if not all, will be carrying. My question is about the lodge at the top of the mountain. It is my understanding that we can't legally carry in Federal Buildings within the parks, but is the lodge owned by the govt. or is it privately owned? And if it is privately owned, is it posted? I don't know if I will even need to go inside the lodge but I figure I will need to take on some water when I get there and I don't know if I will need to go inside to do that or not. Any advice about this or any other suggestions will be appreciated.

I found out about a fella named R.W. Hampton thru "True West" Magazine a few months ago and I think he has one of the best singing voices I've ever heard. He is a real cowboy himself and sings about the life he knows. Here is just one example:

So how am I supposed to quit laughing and go to sleep after that?

Here is a short video of someone shooting the gun with the laser: YouTube - LaserLyte North American Arms Laser NAA-1

I'd be interested to see how this would work. They've been advertising the laser for the mini revolver for awhile now, but I haven't heard how they shoot with one.

Re: Online forums being sued for copyright infringement...
waynesan replied to Zulu Cowboy's topic in General Chat
This has the potential of getting way out of hand quick. Clayton Cramer's "The Armed Citizen" has already been shut down as a result of a lawsuit by the group pushing this. The Armed Citizen This Righthaven outfit is out to make money thru lawsuits against any forum that links or quotes from their publications. And apparently they are buying publications left and right just so they will have copyright protection for their articles so they can turn around and sue those who quote them in online forums. What a great business plan. Here is a list of their owned publications. No Lawyers - Only Guns and Money: Stephens Media LLC, RightHaven LLC, and Bloggers I have seen where several gun forums have initiated new rules regarding quoting from other sources to try and avoid the same thing that happened to "The Armed Citizen". Probably would be a good idea to make plans to make changes here until the dust settles.
