  1. All I know about them is I got a nice new buttstock and forend take off from them for my old 870.  If you really just have to have one you could get a cheap used 870 and send it in if they still have that option.

Federal (or TN) law has not changed in that regard.

As ever, you must not "know or have reasonable cause to believe" the buyer is a prohibited person (for all the various reasons). If it can be proven you violated that, certainly you can spend some significant prison time and big fine.

No BOS required, although many sellers prefer that.

That was my understanding before I heard the conversation yesterday. It just seemed like something you'd in a scene on Law & Order that it caused the WTF?! reaction in my brain.

  3. I don't deer hunt much, if at all, but I do get talked into it by the guys that hunt here on the farm. One has had all his sons get their 1st deer here and his 13 year old bagged his 1st deer 2 weeks ago..........big beautiful 8 point. I told him to carry a baseball bat when he told his brothers since their first deers were does and a spike buck.  I even managed to pull the trigger on my 1st deer this year, a nice eating size doe. Now to just convince myself to actually get up early and go out in the cold to hunt I'd probably tag out up here.

  4. I was killing some time in a pawn shop / gun store yesterday and overheard a conversation between the counter clerk and a customer. Seemed to be the customer was wanting to trade a gun on something new and said something about a private sale. The clerk said that the laws had changed and that now for a private sale you had to be sure the person buying was a prohibited person and if they were you got the charge as they did and that you had to produce and keep a bill of sale/receipt.  I hadn't heard anything at all about this and wondered if it was real or if was just "gunshop counter BS"/sales tactics so they got a gun they could make money off of.

They are going to have a gender confused love child that wont know which box to check?

Well the form makes you pick male or female too doesn't it? Where the other 55 genders!

I figure when the time comes to worry about stuff like that, then we got bigger stuff to worry about.

  6. I got a PSA gen 1 308 AR (PA-10 I think they call it). It had issues like they all did. I changed the bolt and went with the "orange buffer spring". It's run like a top ever since. Uses PMags and is compatible with 90% of the aftermarket parts. I hear that the Gen 2 have all the bugs worked out.  I just checked and you can get one for $900 like the one I have. So they have gone up but they have 6.5 Creedmore too so that could be the new hotness driving up the prices. Most are temp out of stock but the basic A2 looking guns could still be cheaper if you're not a fan of the psa rails.

They made that bed so let them lay in it. Maybe some of these companies that jump on the anti-gun train might want to do some research first to see how many people in this country purchase guns, own guns and hunt with guns. It's not just the right that own gun! People on the left purchase them also and they hunt also.........JMHO

They also catered to people who never had and never would shop in their stores.

Yes...that's the big problem. Not going into reasons, that can be too much to get into tonight. We, as once a manufacturing nation, are not any longer. Way too many products from outside our borders.  Too many companies and jobs lost.

Americans make money now. We are all Wolves of Wall Street and Masters of the Universe so the rest of the world caters to our needs and desires don't you know.

  9. Did you see what they were lumping into the stats for school shootings?  Shootings that happen within x feet of a school.......gang shoot out.......school shooting!  Someone kills themselves.......school shooting!  really screws up the "numbers" so it sounds like it happens once a week or something.

    Looks good.

I used to be down on talon grips and such - after reading about some folks knocking them for having the grips loosen or shift in the heat and such. But after having one on my G43 for around 2 years, I;m quite an advocate for them now. It is critical to have the surface prep and installation done properly. I have had one very small area on it loosen up, but a dab of super glue and its never budged since.

Just added 2 Poly CZ's to my collection and talon grips where on within 2 weeks.

I've had talon griptape on my Glock 35 for going on 4 years now and on my M&Ps for about as long. Mostly competition guns but I grip the piss out of them. Sometimes gunscrubber or something gets on the tape and it loosens up. I finally figured out if I hit the area with a blow dryer that it gets sticky again.

I use a hair dryer now for installs. Heat up the grip and then heat up the tape and it just smooths right out and fits great.

Did he gift one to the President?

Come to that... when last did we HAVE a President that carried? Jackson? Grant?

Clearly not Fat Bill.... he couldn't even hold on to the biscuit.

I figured Ron carried something. You can't take the old cowboy out of a man.

I'd recommend going slow during the first outing with the SD-3G until you get used to just how different it is.

Once you become familiar with it you can let things rip and wonder how you burned through all that ammo so fast. emoji3.png

It done GOOD!!! I'd almost swear its the same pull as my Apex trigger on my M&P. It's sweet and I should have done this way sooner.

Well that would depend on the 1911:)

It's no Wilson but it is as good as most 1911's and better than the lower end ones.

It did have a small amount of take up however. That was not an issue for me.

That's one of the things everyone talked about when the pictures came out. I just wondered if it was 1911 like or just looked like one.

357 sig is my self defense round of choice. In a semi auto the recoil is very manageable. To me, the recoil impulse of the 40 is much worse. I'm also not a big fan of running super hot ammo through a weapon not designed for it. It's been a while since I read up on it but I seem to remember +p+ is not a recognized standard.

The bottleneck cartridge also aids in feeding the beast without issues. I once ran a high round count 3 day class with one. I used range ammo but my hands took a beating a bit so it was harder on me than the 9mm I usually train with. I just wanted to see the limit of what I could endure and compare my split times with times from previous classes I shot with a 9. I was about 1/10 slower on average.

In that class we had an opportunity to test various rounds on a car. The sig penetrated much better than the 9, 40, 45, and interestingly enough a 223 fired from a SBR. Depending on your point of view that can be a good or bad thing...

That's why a lot of people like it and why a lot of the newer ammo for 9mm and 40 are bonded bullets. One of these days I'm going to get a barrel for either my Glock 35 or M&P Pro if I ever find one.

LOL, same here. Too bad TSC & Harbor Freight don't do the same.

Since we are getting a new Rural King in town I wonder if they will. Discount on farm stuff would be good if it stacks with the farm tax number.
