  1. I took the class Sunday at Guns and Leather, bought a PT709 Slim while I was there. Went to the DMV this morning, then went and did my fingerprints while I was out and about. Now the wait begins. I am hoping to have mine in a month, but you just never know. When I was in the class on Sunday the instructor said he recently had a guy in class that got his in nine days. That would be awesome, but I ain't gonna hold my breath.
  2. I know it"s a little late now, but BCM has their uppers on sale. I just picked up one for myself. You would be hard pressed to find a better upper for the price, and if it is in stock you'll have it in a few days. Mine took four days from order to delivery. And if you are wanting to shoot 70 grain bullets, I'd go with a 1:7 twist.
  3. I would definitely be interested in taking this class if it ever comes to fruition. Thanks for the video review, may have to pick it up.

  5. As do I. I should as many times as I have stood there drooling over all the cool eye candy.
  6. I don't know if it's any good or not, but I saw some grungy looking dude that needed a hair cut and a shave buying some today. Strangely enough, that fellow reminded me of an otter.
  7. +1 This is one book that will really get you to thinking. I have heard so many people talk about weapons and ammo when you start talking about preps, but in reality these are a very small part of being prepared.
  8. I opted to go with regular old civilian style backpacks in subdued colors for me and my wife. You can't carry as much in one as a military style pack, but my aim wasn't really to create Bug Out Bags, but rather Get Home Bags. My reason for going with a civvie style pack was "camoflage". I figured if someone see's you wearing a military style pack loaded down with goods you are going to look like a much more rewarding target than someone carrying a smaller mass produced and widely available "WalMart style" pack. I also thought you might draw more attention from any LEO's, National Guard, or whatever policing force we may have operating at the time. I may be way off, but that was just simple thinking from a simple man. Here is the pack I used. Trailmaker Double Section Backpack | Overstock.com
