  1. Still thinning the heard of guns that are either duplicates or I never shoot.  Up for sale is a Ruger 10/22 Takedown with threaded barrel.  Comes with one mag and case.  I think it has less than 100 rounds through it.  Comes with everything from when bought new.  The only thing it does not have is a cap for the threaded barrel.  I can not remember if it comes with one.  I don't think it did but I am not positive.

  3. We are a little over a month away from what will be our largest banquet.  This banquet, our largest fundraising event, plays a crucial role in supporting Safari Club International's mission of protecting our hunting rights. Join us in making a difference while enjoying a night to remember.

There will be a lot vendors at the banquet offering great deals on hunting trips and a variety of there things.  We will also have a lot of great hunts and items in our Live and Silent auctions.

There are approx 100 tickets left.  You can purchase them at this link:

    Well…..

I picked up the beat up old ‘54 336 RC that I want to turn into a trapper on Friday. It’s actually not that bad. All the numbers match and the stock is in better shape than I first thought.

But an hour ago, I won an auction for a three digit serial number 1972 Marlin 1985 (first year of the re-issue). So my trifecta of Marlin big bores (.375 Win, .444 Marlin, and 45-70) is now complete. The 1972 1895 has Ballard rifling instead of the usual MicroGroove rifling.

That’s awesome. You finally got your .45-70.
    Congrats!

So what’s the story about the Nashville TN engraved on the receiver?

They were manufactured here in Nashville.

They were located over off Allied Drive until they were caught selling machine-guns off their back dock.

  6. You can hunt them in TN but you have to apply for a draw.  They only give out like 500-700 permits for sandhills.  With a permit you are allowed to kill 2 birds.

When I hunted them down in Texas we used layout blinds in cut corn fields with a lot of decoys to get them to land.

They are tough birds to bring down but they are fantastic eating. In Texas you can shoot 3 per day.
