I'll show up just to see a few select vendors and see if there are any cheap odds n' ends I can use..Hunting season's about over...
-
Guess you've landed on the spot of your choice, though I saw a pretty nice Benjamin RBS#2 w/2 barrels .177 & .22 cal @ Cash Pawn on Kingston Pk in K'town for $99 today ! Best Wishes,
-
My experience with fixed barrel 22's has led (no pun) me to conclude that the lower speed slightly heavier projectile provides better results on small varmints and is pretty accurate for out to 30 yards or so..BTW, saw a Chinese Beeman @ a local pawn shop last week but I didn't need to start buying another caliber.. Happy Hunting !
-
Goodness Gracious ! The Russian folks can & do make their own 22 ammo ( I've got a few boxes of the steel-cased greasy stuff that my Romanian M 69 digests easily)...Rooster brand , as I recollect. It was not very common, but was kinda cheap in it's day..
-
I have bought and used their ammo quite a while (4 or 5) years ago ..Didn't know they were still producing..Thanks !

A mis-identified Eibar nickel-plated revolver with poorly fit S&W grips was labeled and priced as a Smith@ a an E. Knoxville pawn shop...Bajabuc said someone got a good price for a funky revolver..I agree..Any TGO member see any thing to top that ? Let me know ! Thanks! bucnball
-
What bajabuc said sounds sensible ...Keep Huntin' you shouldn't be disappointed for long ..b and i found 2 worth considering @ pawn shops south of Clinton, Tn yesterday...Best Wishes, bucnball

In a related subject, I've got a small lot of assorted ammo I would lie to swap i.e., 9 makarov for 32 long or 380 browning for 32 auto ..Factory loaded of course, but I'm amenable to trade for some other ammo 38 or 22LR...What about Shoney's on Western Avenue in Knoxville ? Around 10 in the morning? Looking forward, Bucnball

Great Scot ! I had no idea how many .22 cal guns had been sold recently..Best Regards, B
-
IMHO, They have invariably made excellent firearms, wish I could find 'em @ pawn shops more often.. The folks that purchase them usually don't ever need to sell them.. Bucnball

Is the S&B the only ammo you've tried ? I've got some CZ- 52 military rounds you could try (some guns are ammo sensitive) ..Could meet you @ the show next Saturday and swap say 5 or ten rounds ..PM me ! Bucnball
-
Have not seen any mention of above event @ the Kerbela Temple in Knoxville Saturday & Sunday ..It's usually a good show and 5 or 6 dollars admission. Heads Up, Bucnball
-
I'll let you choose 2 out of the 5 that i've got if your rig can accept "inch" pattern mags @ the RK show next Saturday ..Wanna meet up? Bucnball

I found a M48 at a local pawn shop for about $150 though the bolt # doesn't match the receiver and the floor plate was buffed it was worth swapping my Turkish Mauser for it and some boot...Bajabuc and I saw it waiting for a new owner a few days ago..Good Luck finding one @ a reasonable $ ..If you can wait until later in the month some prices soften (depends on circumstances)..Best Wishes, bucnball

Perhaps you might appreciate the replies to "first SKS" on Curio Relic Etc. on TGO site last Wednesday. .bucnball

I found a H&R revolver in .32 Long @ a local pawn shop for $100 about the middle of this month (put it on layaway ) ... Check with pawn shops and estate sales out in rural locations, you may find a deal ! Good Luck ! bucnball

A 44 year-old retired duty-worn model 10 38 Special clad with a Hogue monogrip that has a sweet trigger...

Found a pallet on the floor @ Academy Sports for $4.95 per carton of 90 a couple of days ago. BTW, It's the one on Kingston Pike in Knoxville ..Happy hunting ! Bucnball

I have a Para GI Expert in stainless that I bought in a local pawn shop for $499 plus Tics/Tax that shoots tighter groups than my Colt Mk IV that has been a favorite of mine for years... Check out the used guns @ your vendors if you can...Good Luck!

I have heard that the SKS shoots pretty well to point of aim and that it is reasonably accurate .. Sight 'er in on paper @ 20 yards (or meters) and the bullet should rise about 5 or 6 inches @100 & return to point of aim @ 200 yds .As other readers have pointed out try some hunting ammo . I've heard the SKS referred to as a good hunting rifle by folks from Wisconsin. Good Luck !

Hope the image will post..Thanks for your forbearance...

Yes Baja, your are correct! It's actually a No. 12 made from 1912 to 1930 according to Flayderman's #2...Not likely to find many more of 'em.

Thanks guys..I'll probably take it to the Moose range later this week weather and circumstances permitting..Will let you know ...
