  1. I hope this is the correct place to ask this ?. I was at a gun show today in Gray Tn. I was looking at a Eotec 512the guy at the table said it was a clone for $150 He said it was the same as on a table just 30 feet away for $402 out the door, the clone had on the side L3 eotec. I look at both for a long time and compared they sure appeared to be the same to me. Has anyone seen these or can help for I want to get a 512 for my AR. How can they have L3 on them and yet not be the real thing? I sure need some help for if they are worth the money I will get one tomorrow. Thanks

Thanks Major, I was on the phone the other day with Law Enforcement Sales about threading my 15-22 and a bolt gunRemington 541.The prices are right , have you had them do any work for you or know how they are? He said that he could do both the same day while I did some shopping in Knoxville. Its about 150 miles away, But I am retired so time is on my side I pray.

I also have a Remington 541T that I would like to get threaded, that way all my 22 could used with a suppressor. As I said I live in Bluff City 1 hr or so from you maybe I could just drop them off and pickup or have you ship back. Can I get a protecter to screw over the threads that would look good when not useing the suppressor?

Would you have a price on threading the 541-T,The barrel is 23 inchs, what would be advanage or disadvanage of shorting the barrel? Also how long would it take to thread both the M&P 15-22 and the Remington? I was thinking maybe that I could pick them up the same day Don't know how your schedule is.
    Thanks

    Hey Rab,

If you can remove the barrel, I can still do it for $50. If you don't have the barrel wrench, you can ship the whole gun and it will be $70... the S&Ws just take a little bit of extra time removing the barrel and such. Plus you have to recrown because the factory cut crown doesn't get completely removed during the turning down on the lathe. So it leaves a little lip. Some leave it but I prefer to machine the face square again and cut a new crown.

Plus shipping back depending on what you sent. Be happy to help though.

    Hey Ramjo,

Nothing wrong with selling your barrel and buying a factory but threading isn't that bad. I do it for $50. A new threaded .920 barrel is going to run you easily $120+ for the cheaper ones.

But yeah, the .920s look very nice with a Sparrow, Quest, Outback type 22 suppressor. I did a 10/22 tactical for my son a few years ago and with a quest, you couldn't tell where the barrel ended and the suppressor started. It was pretty slick. I have a stainless .920 in the shop if you're in the area you could look at. Be happy to help with the threading too.

Or, if you're interested in a stainless bull model, this one I have in the shop was brand new. Took it to a demo a few weeks ago... < 20-30 rounds through it. I'd take $50 and your barrel in trade if you want it.

I have a used quest suppressor in the shop as well. Have some Sparrows on order but the ATF is dragging here lately.

Good luck, the 10/22s are excellent suppressed weapons.

I am a ways from you but what is the cost to thread a S&W M&P 15-22, I got one of the frist before they were threaded, the store where I deal said My gun and $125 for a new style

I'm currently waiting on a Silencerco Sparrow for my .22's and it is full auto rated since it's stainless steel. However, it cannot be used on a 5.56. I've heard of people using 5.56 rated cans on .22s but I think they are a little bulky for most .22s. Don't go cheap. A good quailty suppressor will be well worth the investment. The transfer fee only comes into play when you buy it somewhere else other than the gun store you're picking it up at and can vary from place to place. Average wait time I think is around 6-8 months.

Thanks alot,I check out some infor on the sparrow. They were testing it with a P-22 and a 10-22 .I have both so this could be the way to go , said that it was the most easest one on the market to clean. The msrp was $499 ,is that the prices at the gun stores, also so that you could shot 22 mag, have one but not threaded
    Again Thanks
How long have you been waiting if you don't mine
  8. I know that this has been ask b-4 , but I have wanted to get a suppressor for a very long time. If I had started the paper work then I know that I would have it by now.
My question is what is the best suppressor for a auto 22 and can I use it on a 556
What is the avg wait time to get your stamp back
I would like to get off as cheep as I can ,but I don't want to but junk and have to wait that long again
I read that the stamp is $200 but what is the tranfer fee
    Thanks
  9. Call this morning and the dealer said its my lucky day they just got in two PPQ,Had to pick up one for I had been waiting for a while,Was a little more than on line ,but I could get to hold it and thats worth some extra change. Got to put a few rounds on paper after lunch and was hitting low 2 1/2 in and left 2 in at 10 yds.I was able to move to the right but what the answer for get up to the point of aim, I welcome any help

  10. Craig's in Knoxville does do the LEO/Mil/PS discount. .They do charge TCIS and Tax. But at the price of gas these days a sub-LE dealer is a good bet if you live nowhere near Knoxville.

What is the amount of discount for Mil./ does this apply to VA Disable card holders?

  11. I to have ADT and have had a false alarm on my sliding door in the dining room in the middle of the night, that sound sure get your mind in a different state, what I did was to put some tape on the inside of the alarm and it sure tone it down so that you can hear the phone ring from ADT,they always call in 90 sec. after the alarm goes off for I have set it off by mistake

  12. I have swivel one on a Remmington 700 and a NON-swivel one on an AR. The swivel one makes the gun always feel like it is canted. The notches are great. The friction screw leg adjusters offer a lot more variation, but is awkward to adjust, or at least I make it look very awkward. But the Harris pods are VERY durable pieces of gear. Get the notched leg non swivel, unless you are using it in the field a lot, then the swivel might be useful to you. I shot stationary on a bench or prone at known distances.

Thanks for the information for will be shooting mainly from a table top bench, do you feel that the 9-13 inch is the correct height for setting at a bench

  13. John C, I think those are better choices. What about a bi-pod? The Harris's that I use are great, but they do cost a premium.

HCRoadie, I am thinking of getting a pod for my M&P15,the one I looking at is Harris 9-13 with the 1 inch noched adjustments, and it will swivel, what do you have yours mounted on and how it working for you?

  14. Thanks Graycrait, Was able to get all the information that I needed to make my slection, only problem is both barrels I was looking at were on back order, the 40 to 9mm 4 ported and the same barrel not ported. but to be in stock 6-1-12 Guess I can wait and the price is right at 149.95 and 109.95. Also from what they say in thier add these are a very good barrel, but it their add. Do you or anyone know about the ported barrels they said in the add they some carbon would build up on the front sight after some shooting? again thanks

  15. I have a Glock 35 tac 40 cal and would to get a 9mm barrel so that I can enterchange. What is the best barrel and mag on the market for the money. I have read on this form that you can change to both 9mm amd 357 sig. sure would like to get the correct one the frist time. Thanks

  16. I have a Mark IITarget Stainless Slab side,Competition Target Model, it can with adj. rear sight and drilled with a Ruger rail, but not a weaver style. that I have a Aimpoint red-dot mounted on now . I am thinking of changing to a weaver style so that I can replace the Aimpoint with a reflex, I hope this will make it a little faster getting on target. Also Jonnin had commented back in post #3 on replacing the trigger with a Volquartsen trigger,is this something that the average person can do or do I need a gunsmith and whats the estimated cost?

  17. Here is the actually text of the law...

    39-17-1351(t)

Any law enforcement officer of this state or of any county or municipality may, within the realm of the officer's lawful jurisdiction and when the officer is acting in the lawful discharge of the officer's official duties, disarm a permit holder at any time when the officer reasonably believes it is necessary for the protection of the permit holder, officer or other individual or individuals. The officer shall return the handgun to the permit holder before discharging the permit holder from the scene when the officer has determined that the permit holder is not a threat to the officer, to the permit holder, or other individual or individuals provided that the permit holder has not violated any provision of this section and provided the permit holder has not committed any other violation that results in the arrest of the permit holder.

    http://www.lexisnexi...ttopics/tncode/

Fallguy ,thanks for the information I know that there were others who were not sure of the correct responce then the issue did arrive. I don't plan on breaking any laws to be pulled over for , but it is good to know so that there is less of a problem when stopped.

  18. Can you imagine the trouble if doofus shot and killed himself with your handgun while you're standing on the side of the road? There is no reason for an officer to disarm a HCP permit holder unless they're being arrested... It's safer for everybody involved that officers not handle firearms they're not trained to handle. The sooner we can get rid of that silly disarm law the better.

As I read this thread I think it a good place to get the answer to a question I had and never asks,I should have ask when I took my HCP test over four years ago . If stoped for speeding ,not stopping for stop sign or for what ever, can the officer take my handgun without just cause, meaning fear for his safety or under what conditions is he justfied to do so. This may have been answered many time before, sorry if so, but it good for me to know .

  19. Well, if you want best accuracy and not have to keep fooling with sight adjustments, you should settle in on at least the same weight bullet, and better, the same round period. And if it performs as well in your heater as the MiniMag, the Blazer will save you a heap of money over time.

I guess that Winchester is 36 grain, most of it is, unless it's the fairly new M22 stuff Wally is carrying some places. Course you may be shooting 36 grain MiniMag, the hollow points are that, but the solid points are 40 grain, which I personally much prefer.

Btw, BlueDog, Remington Golden Bullet has been absolutely the WORST bulk ammo over the last couple years ever manufactured IMNSHO! Even if it "runs" okay in your gun, it's still crap it's so inconsistently loaded.

    - OS

I was using the 40 grain, How do you feel about carring a 22 ? I carry a Glock 35 tac. 357 sig when I not fishing ,just a little heavy for my waders
