  1. I when out and shot a 100 rounds of CCI mini mags had no problems ,I got another 100 rounds of the CCI I want to shot to see if there is a breakin issue. still have over a half of a box of the winchesters that I started with that I will use after the second hundred. I do like the way this gun shoots, had to ajust the sight to the right about 3in. at 12 yards. I had gotten this gun to carry when fishing for it will fit in the small pocket on my waders. Thanks for all the help getting through this

  2. This should be required reading for all P-22 owners. Much of what he has written about and done to his is no longer needed. He reported this stuff to the manufacturer who made many of the changes in later generations.

This was truly some good infor. Some is I believe to be over my pay grade but good to to have stored on my hard drive.

Too answer about the two mags, had to buy the 2nd one,30 bucks dealer said that a good price.

Also I will try the CCI mimi mags hope this will help, for I like shooting the bulk because of the price.

If I continue to have the problems with the feed maybe the dealer where I purchased it at can help for they acted as to be customer friendly, was my 1st time in thier store in Elizibethton ,Tn.

Thanks for the help and good comments

  3. After two weeks of checking and reading I got the Walther P-22 ,Sure hope that it was not a mistake for all the reports I saw were good .BUT I have two issues 1st when there is no mag in the gun I can not lower the hammer.I am asking for anyones answer who has or knows if this is normal for the manual said remove the mag when decocking and slowly lower the hammer, 2nd the only rounds that I had were Winchester bulk from Walmart that I have no problems with in my S&W 15-22 .They didn't feed well in the P-22 , they would eject but would not load, this happen 8-10 times in 40 shots in both mags. Like I said I need to hear form anyone who can share some light on the issue

    THANKS

  4. I will just give you a quick run down of the Sport and why it is such a great gun.

    1. The barrel is a 5R rifled barrel.

5R barrels are known for their accuracy regardless of caliber. For whatever reason they just shoot and shoot well. It also increases the velocity by virtue of how the rifling is laid out.

    2. The barrel is Melonite treated.

Melonite treatments are far better than any chrome lining as far as hardness and durability. It also offers an exception amount of corrosion resistance. It is more than just a surface coating like chrome, it actually treats the metal and goes subsurface.

    3. The bolt is properly heat treated.

This is very important for the long term durability of the firearm. It ensures the headspace will remain in spec longer than those bolts that are not heat treated properly. Poorly heat treated bolts will either wear prematurely or break from being too brittle.

    4. It has a barrel twist rate of 8

This twist rate allows you to fire the heaviest bullets that can be fed from a magazine, up to 80 grains. And because it isn't a 7 twist (like most others out there) you can also fire the lightweight varmint style bullets without fear of the jackets seperating.

    5. It comes ready to fire.

It comes with a Magpul rear sight while most competitors, even those 100's of dollars more expensive, do not. The sights have been proven for several years now both by those in harms way as well as the weekend shooter. It also includes a Magpul magazine which has also been proven for seveal years now.

    6. It is built to the same specs as all other AR's

This means you can upgrade and swap parts to build a gun that suits your wants or needs. And because it is an AR most of the work can be done by the owner and if it is a milspec part it WILL fit.

    7. The price

In reality if any other maker were to offer the same features as the Sport has they would be asking 100's of dollars more. The 5R barrel and Melonite treatment were once only offered on high end guns. And included in the price is a warranty that is among the best in the industry.

Up until about 3 months ago the Sport flew under my radar. It wasn't until I was asked about them that I took a serious look at them. I have since become a huge fan of them and recommend them to anyone who wants a quality gun that doesn't break the bank. And if I were in the market for one I would buy a Sport.

    Dolomite

Dolomite how can you tell if you have a 5R barrel, I have a M&P15 and on the barrel is 5.56 nato 1/9
  5. The absolutely best deal in the under $800 market is the S&W M&P Sport. It has a 5R barrel which is known for its accuracy. The barrel is Melonite coated which is better than chrome lined as well as being very corrosion resistant. And finally it has a properly hardened bolt which is something I consider mandatory, especially in a gun that is going to see a lot of use. And the twist is the best of all worlds at 8. This allows you to shoot any weight of bullet that will feed from a magazine. It also allows you to shoot the lightweight varmint bullet, something most 7 twist guns can't. I know at about 3,300 fps the 40 grain V-Max comes apart in my 7 twist gun. And at less than that the 53 grain SMK's come apart in the 7 twist as well.

    Dolomite

Dolomite, Sure was glad to hear someone say something about S&W M&P 15 for I not the smartest on AR-15 but my frist one purchased was M&P 15 and it has worked well for me, I got the flat-top with a Nikon 3-9 and have used high price and some cheaper rounds and they all work great. Anyone have any problems with the M&P -15
  6. I had post a request for some infor. on the PS 380 , but had given the wrong information for the help ,I want to purchase a PK 380 and a crossbreed super tuck holster. but know very little about either so I will welcome any help on both.I was looking at the one in black and nickle slide, and is there one that comes with lazer sight, not a add-on

  8. I been looking at the 380 in black and nickel, I sure like the look of it. This would be my carry gun for I wanted something a little smaller and also so lighter. 9. Is the Kingsport show worth the price and has anyone found any good deals, I have only been to the Goodman show in Dayton Oh and that was about 7 years ago .I was reading another thread that said most of the stuff is over priced or very poor quality.
