If the Taurus 85 is good and reliable then go for it. The Taurus 85 has been around for al long time and most that I have seen and handled and shot are fine revolvers.

The xd sc probably has the same quality and reliability as it's big brothers. I have a XD-45LE that is a fine weapon. I plan on keeping it. I think that customer service is good on Springfields,Glocks and S&W's.

I am sure glad that you got you and your family out of that place. God bless you for that. Now have you got that handgun carry permit yet? You probably knew that someone was going to ask,,,,,I hope that you and your wife both have them. Glad you made it to Tennessee and to this forum. We are all brothers here.

My wife carries and shoots a 637. Part of the clearcoat came off. She still loves the gun and will not part with it to send it back to S&W to get it re finished. She said it's MY gun and it is fine just the way it it. She carries and shoots Remington 158 grain +p lead HPs in it. She qualified with it 8 years ago to get her permit.

Thanks for all the welcome posts. I really value my Tn. HCP. This is the most important legislation Tennessee could have ever passed. We all need to make sure we keep this in place. I always try to promote legal handgun carry where ever I go. We need all the legal permit owners that we can garner here in Tennessee. I presently carry a Glock 33. I love the way it shoots...........WHAT A HOOT!! Always was a S&W fan when I worked. After I retired I had a chance to shoot a Glock 29 (10mm) that belongs to a good friend. I was hooked from that day forward. I pretty much carry 24/7. My sweetie always carries her Airweight when she walks out the front door (or back door for that matter) She fully understands that she is to back me up if needed. What a great lady. Thanks again and glad to be here. (I still likes me S&Ws though.)

Not sure how I found this place but am pleased that I did. Live in Scott County Tn. Used to work for the SO here. Been retired for quite a while. My loving wife and I share interests in camping, fishing, shooting and traveling. She is a S&W revolver girl, I am currently a Glock kind of guy. We are both into our second round of Tn. HCP's. (love this state)
