  1. I love buying my own presents. Saturday while retaking my CCW (another thread) I ended up coming home with a really nice blue 3" model 36 to go with my model 60. Paid what it was marked, no real great deal but is in excellent condition.

  2. After a few months trying to figure out how to convert my Fl permit to Tn permit, it was concluded that I had to retake the class. Tn doesnot recognize Fl because of a lack of safety portion in the Fl class. I retook the class Saturday at Sevierville Indoor Range. Very well done, but really hard metal chairs and one stupid required movie. Cost was $65 but, that inlcudes 30 days unlimited indoor range time. They hold classes monthly if anyone in the area is interested.

Very clean facility and real nice people to do business with.

  3. Bought a kit for 45 cal (full size) yesterday for $41.95 in Jeff City. Had to pay tax' but no shipping' so probably about the same price as cheaper mailorders. Shop has more if anybody is interested.

  4. I am cleaning out the garage and have come across a few hundred 6mm/244 cartridges and cases. Some cases only, some reloads, I would pull the bullets on the reloads as they have been stored for ten years or so. Some brass is decent some corroded so will defintely need tumbling. I sold all my loading equip before we moved and don't have time to mess with them for a while.

First I'll take them can have them. I can meet you in Knoxville area or shipped on your dime.

  5. I had two AMT Backups in 380 when they first came out. Late 70's early 80's if I remember correctly. I had very poor luck with both of them. Neat idea and size, but both were to unreliable to keep. I even sent them back to AMT for sevice, but they came back just as bad. Sounds like you got a good price and hopefully my experience was isolated and not the norm.

  6. Does anyone know of a shop in the Knox area that carries 10/22 parts? I have one and want to build it up, heavy barrel, new stock, etc. Most places tell me they can order for me, but I like to touch stuff before I order. (This has gotten me slapped more than once!). Heck I bet I could even order by myself if I try real hard.

  7. I need some info on obtaining a TN carry permit. So far I have gotten several different responses to my question.

I recently relocated to Knox area from Fl. I have a current Florida CCW permit. Now that I am a Tn resident I want to get a Tn permit. So far I have been told everything from, "You don't need a Tn permit just keep using your Fl permit until it expires" to " You have to take the entire class over and submit everything" to "I don't think you need to take the class and fingerprints just pay the fees and submit paperwork."

I am starting to get tired of running from Motor vehicle people, to courthouse, to sheriff dept., to gunshop trying to find the real answer.

Anybody having experience trying to convert a license from another state with info is welcome to chime in.

As near as I can tell, all that I need is to do the safety portion and pay the $50 renewal fee. I think?
