1. Super fun. Now that I have class, I am ready for the regular matches.
2. Practiced going prone and reloading for about an hour yesterday. See you guys there.
3. Awesome! Just went to partly cloudy. Wunderground is usually pretty accurate.
4. Sorry. We are not allowing Gungan Death Squad members to shoot.
5. Weather has gone from chance of rain to overcast to mostly cloudy. By Saturday it should be nice and Sunny. :D   I'll see you guys there.
6. HERE are the classifier stages for the match Saturday.
7. Shot it once and it was a mess. It is hard for me to go because I shoot Gallatin the weekend NTPS shoots. And I don't like being away both days. I have to go now and practice my prone reloading for the classifier match Saturday. :)
8. I too shoot the classifier in IDPA better than my match performance. So I assume in USPSA it will be similar. Either way I am excited about having USPSA at the range.
9. There was a shootout and all of us shooting the fancy auto loaders were shown up by a guy with a wheel gun.
10. Ricky, let us know how it goes today.
11. Great match today. I had a fantastic squad. Missed ESP expert by three hundredths of a second. Thanks Robert!
12. Our range is for competition only. But we do have two each of plate racks, polish plate racks, texas stars, and new(I haven't seen yet)Irish plate racks. About 14 seconds in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkm7ocXneT0
13. I would say by 12:30 or 1:00. The classifier is a skills drill and is nothing like the regular matches. It is still pretty fun and you get to draw and shoot 13 times(once from low ready). Moving forward and backward, low cover, turning and shooting and the dreaded head shots. 90 shots total but bring extra for re-shoots or malfunctions.
14. Nice weather? I won't know how to act.
15. Thanks for all the help setting up and tearing down. Scores are done and emailed out to those addresses I could read or already had. 9mmNorma put it on us again.
16. From wiki.. The Steel Challenge is a speed shooting championship and governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA). The targets, made of steel, range in size from 10" round plates to 18"x24" square plates.   We just started and this is our inaugural match. You start from "surrender" and at the buzzer let them rip. There are .22 rim fire divisions that start from low ready so you don't need a holster just a gun rug or something to stow the gun between stages.   Here is a video from Ruger.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4RXNo4gEyk   Here is Max Michel setting a world record.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jqPX3_LjsM
17. Working on the stages. Is there anything you guys would like to see more of? Weak hand only, low cover, or hard cover? Should be a great match. As always, new safe shooters are welcome. Check out the new and improved website(thanks JohnHHuber)for details and new shooter info.
18. Thanks to everyone for coming out. We will do it again this fall.
19. Just got back from the range. Bay three is washed out. Changed the stages in one and two around some. Bay four, the steel stage, is fine. It looks like four stages is all we will be able to shoot. We will set something up in the woods tomorrow if enough people show up. If the weather keeps people away those of us there will just have fun with what we have.
20.
Does anyone have "Outlaw Zombie" rules or the Outlaw rules? My Googlefu turns up a couple different rules. My main question is can we run a USPSA type double belt? Thanks.
It's an extra five bucks to run a hot rod setup. J/K USPSA stuff is fine.
21. Going down tomorrow to check on the range. Bay three is in bad shape. I think we will still get five stages in but definitely four.
22. Those switches are quite critical to hit the first time.
23. Our range is a competition only range.   Members of the club can stay after matches and practice if they wish. If you like what you see find me and ask about membership.   We are opening up one bay to accommodate some longer rifle shots but it is not ready yet.
24. Here is a little preview.
