  1. This is great chance to try out the other disciplines if you are already shooting competitions. I have some great help lined up if you need to work on part of your game.
  2. Music City Tactical Shooters is going to run a range day for new guys to come out see all the different disciplines we shoot and have a chance to shoot them all. Experienced shooters can use the day as a practice day. Spectators will be welcome to see the range and watch what is going on. One bay will be used to get acquainted with the rules, commands and gun handling skills needed to shoot a match. I will have stages set-up for USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge and Outlaw Steel. If you have been on the fence about coming out--this is the day. Check out the Competition Forum for more info.
  3. What Rickey said. Watching sucks.
  4. Going to change the scoring system to USPSA hit factor scoring. It will make you think a little on how you approach the stage.
  5. On August 30th we will hold an Introduction to Competitive Shooting Day. New shooters are encouraged to attend and will get to run through the different disciplines we shoot at MCTS. Experienced shooters can come out and practice the stages that will be set-up.   We will have one bay dedicated to learning the rules and gun handling needed to shoot your first match.   Experienced shooters are encouraged to come out and bring a friend, or significant other who is ready to get started.   The bays will be open for practice runs when not needed for the new shooters.    USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, and Outlaw Steel will be available.    Day will start at 7:00am with set-up. With a shooters meeting at 8:30am and shots by 9:00am.   Needed; Safe firearm with a strong side holster or gun rug, box or bag to store it in.  Magazine or speed loader carriers are recommended but not needed. At least 100 rounds but bring more so you can shoot more. Eye and ear protection. A must! $25.00 entry. We will try and wrap the day up by 1:00pm. Spectators are welcome to come out but bring eye and ear protection to.
  6. Sunday the 24th MCTS will host an Outlaw Steel Match. Four stages with a round count of around 80. But bring extra   :ugh: .   Stages should get out soon.   This is a super fun match. Steel has that instant gratification and feedback from a good hit.
  7. This is a great match for new/safe shooters to come out and give competitive shooting a try. The stages are more complex than IDPA but the rules should be easier to get a grasp on.
  8. Hognut will have a nice squad to run again.
  9. Bacall and Bogey had such good chemistry in "The Big Sleep" that they added some scenes with the two. She will be missed.
  10. This is first try. Shot as the rules say. This is shot from the holster. The time is 1.88s first shot, 2.30s second, reload and then 4.53s third and 4.95s last shot.
  11. Super fun match. I had a terrific squad. We all had a great time.
  12. I'll shoot this after our IDPA match Saturday. Any TGO members that shoot the regular match can stick around and we can shoot this.
  13. I was going to skip it but I'll be there. Looks like fun. Bring your pistol targets for the TGO match and we can shoot that after the main match is over.
  14. WOW! What a match. Super fun and definitely challenging. Big thanks for all the help putting everything back.
  15. Shotguns are welcome. Lots of reloading practice.   Also pistol caliber carbines.
  16. USPSA style rules on equipment and divisions. Be safe and shoot in the box are about it as far as rules go. One stage has two poppers painted red that must fall first. Steel matches really test your shooting. Especially trigger control. It forces you into making good shots. Hopefully you get a "bang" and a "clang" every shot.
  17. Set-up starts at 7:00am New shooters meeting around 8:30am Shooters meeting by 8:45am Shots at 9:00am   Finish up around 1:00pm but you never know.
  18. Didn't think about that. Maybe fastest limited time will set the par.
  19. Trying a new format with this one. Three big stages that we will shoot twice. Once through for time and then again with a par time. Par time will be the fastest run for each stage the first time through knocked down to the whole second--minus another second. So first run on a stage of 14.20 seconds will turn into a par time of 13 seconds. I will score each as a separate match. Round count total of around 170. But it is steel so bring extra. Stages will be out shortly.
  20. Can you top shooting your holster off of your gun?   I'll be there. Warming up to shoot the Rainier match next week.   Lefty--come early and help set up. It will give you some good insight and time to ask questions.
  21. Looking for some titegroup. I'll call Monday.
