  1. They are tools, but I take care of my tools. I have no unfired guns in my possession for display which is my interpretation of safe queen.

Can we get this thread setup as a sticky in Firearms Classifieds?

  2. The states of Connecticut, Colorado and New York all visited by Joe Biden to get state level gun control (oppression) passed. I wonder how they feel now that their Democrat counterparts at the federal level couldn't even pass background check legislation. I would be pi$$ed if I went out on a political limb for them.

  3. I dont see the buzz over netflix. They are really slow at getting newer movies..

I agree with this statement. I used it a a reference to highlight the differences in AppleTV and Roku because its the same Netflix service. Apple just has a better interface IMO. To the OP you won't be disappointed with either box. I think you will be happier the AppleTV.
  4. I have both the Roku XL and Apple TV. I purchased the Roku first and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I purchased the Apple TV because of its smooth interface. The Apple TV is what is attached to my big screen now. The Roku has been moved to the bedroom. Netflix is Netflix no matter which box right? Not at all. For one the layout of each is different. I can control the TV with almost any device using airplay. When I want to search for a show I can use my apple device keypad instead of moving a box from letter to letter on the screen. Better yet I can go to the search screen and speak what I am looking for using any Siri capable device and it translates on the screen. It has Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon and iTunes. When you buy a season pass or other content you can watch it from any Apple device anywhere. I can play music from my iTunes library provided the PC Is on. I can look at pictures from the same PC. One slick feature is I have placed all our home movies in an iTunes format and I stream them across the wireless network.

  5. Have you found a holster that fits the M11A1. Reading seems to indicate anything made for the non-railed P228/229 should fit.

I have not found a holster manufacturer yet who lists this model.

I had an older p229 w/out a rail. I tried a galco combat master ( i prefer OWB carry) for a p229 w/ rail and it fit perfect. I suspect all leather holsters would be the same. Kydex may be different but who would want one of those anyway lol

I purchased a Safariland OWB from The Armory for the 229 and it fit perfectly.
  6. I use the same Crossbreed for my G19 and G26.
It was said there isn't much difference between the two in thickness and that is true. I choose the to carry the G26 when I need to be more discreet. There is approximately an extra inch of grip to conceal on the G19. I used to be a 4-5 o'clock guy, but moved to 3 o'clock because for me it hides the grip better. I also use a Safariland OWB at 3 o'clock.

  8. It seems I am the odd man out with my 10+1 minimum.

I don't go out late at night.

I don't go to the dangerous parts of town day or night.

I don't find myself in places where I am isolated and easy prey.

I do watch the news and see the random jacka$$ on a suicidal killing spree with an AR15 at the mall or elsewhere and figure I have just as much chance being in the wrong place/time as being in a common self defense senario.

Like I said it's not a semi auto vs. revolver thing. It's a round count thing.

  9. I can see your setting up a revolver vs semi automatic discussion, but IMHO its what's an acceptable round count. I decided 10+1 is my lower limit. Low round count is fine for one attacker, maybe two, but in the heat of the moment every shot needs to count. I also decided I didn't want to be out gunned by multiple assailants. Two assailants x 15 rounds each vs a revolver is not good odds. I figure if the shooting starts its a gun fight. A .357 is very nice, perhaps special, but a .40 can be configured to shoot .357sig in a couple minutes.
  10. Thank you for the review. I have been looking very closely at this pistol. I have been trying to determine how it would fit into my EDC rotation to justify the purchase. I haven't been able to justify it yet so it might come down to "I just want one".
  11. My suggestion is live where you live. Find the area that supports your non work life. Live near friends and people you spend time with. Its a commitment to remain close to people who live 30 minutes the other side of downtown. IMHO selecting location is not about conveience to work.

  12. Their 40 caliber Glocks of all sizes are more accurate and their brass does not hit them in the forehead.

If you are getting hit by brass in the forehead, sounds like you should send you gun back to Glock? Are you a southpaw?
  13. In my experience $471.50 is real high for one car (Depends on your Age, Driving Record and Year Make and Model).  How many cars are you insuring?  Are you using the same company for your home/renters insurance to obtain the muti-policy discount?  Have you shopped around?  You should know using an independent agent is going to cost you a bit more because the company has to pay a commission to the agent.
