  1. Ok so i set up the chrono. this morning and broke out the handi rifle, the 700gr. was a pussycat out of the 18" barrel i could shoot it all day long. it measured in at 1302 fps with 3635 ftlbs. of energy. The 350gr extreme penatrator was not as tame clocking in at 2227 fps. and 3855 ftlbs.  I think the next test will be to hang a bone in pork shoulder and shoot it, but don't worry about it being wasted the last one i shot i smoked right after and it was good. I think food tastes better if you shoot it yourself.

BigTruuck, what gun are you running them through?  I'm guessing a wheel gun.  You oughta pick up a H&R Handi rifle in .500 S&W too.  Ain't no H&R anymore but a used one is still common if you look.  That 700g beastie would be a badazz thumper in the brush from a little carbine rifle.

I am runnning them in my 4" but I'm gonna try them out in my handirifle. Probalbly gonna chronograph them over the 4th. As well.

  3. So i got home on fri. and had a package waiting for me from Underwood ammo. On the left is a 700gr. hard cast lead, the right one is a 350 gr. extreme penetrator s&w500, the middle is a 45 jhp for size reference. i will say the 700gr. is a handful in a 4" but it is so much fun to shoot.

  4. The durability of the steel is one part of it. The shear mass of the knife is sufficient enough to chop down fallen limb of a tree into firewood if you need to, without it being burdensome amount of weight. The back edge has enough of an edge to strike a fire steel and produce an impressive amount of spark without wearing it noticeably. Plus when you hold it you can imagine how a grizzly bear must feel with his big ol knifelike claws. But this is just how I feel about mine.

  5. Still snowing in the Trenton area. At 5.5" now. The side road are covered and US 45E has had enough traffic to pack the snow into a slick layer. But I got done what I needed to do down in town. So now its play time.

Right, but on some of the dana axels there is a slip collar that joins the two axel shafts together and it has a vacuum acuator that moves the collar into position.

unless you don't have a dana axel it has been a long time since i worked on an older chevy.
