  1. I bought the .223 Ruger American, and we were shooting 14 x 14 inch targets out to 400 yards with ease. We were also hitting 500 and 600 yard targets, also 14 x 14", but not as easily. We were shooting in Wyoming at the Jackson Hole Gun Club, and using plain Remington ammo, nothing special. I think I paid $360 for it and we were using a Nikon 3-9 x 40 scope (not included in price). I recommend this rifle for casual shooters, and maybe even serious shooters.
  2. I have one in 30.06 and love the bolt handle. It doesn't come too close to the scope. If they made a .223 I would buy it.
  3. I shoot at the Haffner range in (or near) Thompson Station. Nice people and several range officers, but no signs reminding people of safety rules. I see people messing with their guns while others are setting up their targets and there is no excuse for that.
  4. I just bought (but haven't received) the MVP Predator with 18.5 inch barrel for $490 total cost, free shipping, from Kentucky Gun Company on-line. It has the traditional stock, not the bench rest style, which I may also buy someday. It just seems like a great idea to use AR-15 mags in a bolt rifle, and it looks really good. I want to compare performance to my Mini 14, which also shoots .223 and looks about the same size, although semi-auto of course.

    Taurus Service

I sent my Taurus .45 OSS back and they fixed and returned it in one week. Why it kept jamming in the first place I don't know.
  6. The CZ Custom trigger job is about $150 and then shipping back and forth is another $100 or more, correct?
  7. I just bought a Mosin Nagant from Bud's but it hasn't arrived yet. I really don't know what condition it's in but it was only $95 including shipping to Tennessee. Their site actually describes it as "factory new." I don't know how that could be. I will let you know what it looks like when I get it.
  8. I bought my CZ75B at the Armory in Murfreesboro and I know the Franklin Gun Shop has some too. It is a pleasure to shoot and I recommend it.
  9. I love the trigger on the SR-9. I wish the trigger on my CZ-75B had the same reset point because the CZ-75B feels better in my hand.
