Would you suggest the savage edge?

Why do they receive so much hate? Do any of you own one of them? I was planning on buying one and came home and did a little research and most all of the reviews I read were negative. I realize that it is a cheaper gun, but I do not want to spend 6 or 7 hundred dollars on a gun that will see limited action (hunting season). I was just wandering what your all's thoughts were.

I think I may have answer my question from the other day..

I would have loved to live in the time where your life depended and others depended on you. Everything you had, you either made or bartered for with skills or wares you had to offer. Seems like it would have been a simpler time. -

Haha. I still have a long way to go. Plus I am not saying I don't have fun or even that I am not happy. I am talking more along the lines of lasting happiness. -
Here is the link in case you missed it or just so you won't get confused: Short Answer: I am young and ignorant. Long answer: I think it is a complete inability for a human being to be happy. We no longer have anything to strive for because everything is so readily available and pretty much handed to us on a silver platter, therefore we are constantly wanting more. We want more of something, anything, everything because we believe that more of something will bring us happiness. Unlike back in the day (which sadly, I was not part of) when just enough was enough to keep someone happy forever. When I say back in the day, I mean way way way back in the day when happiness was not the first thing on anyone's list, but survival was. They worked hard for what the had and if they didn't they died or their family was miserable. This is still obtainable. You can go work a long hard day and at the end of the day you may hate your job, but still you get that amazing feeling of accomplishment and/or pride when you go home. This is all I have came up with so far. I am sure there is plenty more that I am missing.

That's the one i was looking for.. thanks

What are some websites that offer survival gear? I've seen them on articles before, just forgot to bookmark them. They were discounted websites also. Thanks

Thanks for all of the advice everyone. .

I want to be offended by this. But you sir are indeed correct. Although I would rather work hard at an easy job than be lost at a hard job.

See that is what I am wondering. Is contentment reachable? Plus is it really a good thing? Shouldn't you always strive to be better and for more? How do you turn that switch off?

From what I read and one of the things I read was a List of Careers for Criminal Justice in our departments office and they had Game Warden listed. So no offence, but I sure hope you are wrong. If not I will be sorely disappointed.

That is what they say. Who knows. The world is crazy these days

This is exactly what I am talking about. That is why I am leaning more towards game warden. Riding around in a truck all day in the mountains seems nice and peaceful.

I don't plan on being a cop. I may go federal or TBI, but not a cop. Just never really interested me.

Haha nice one

This post may go a little bit of everywhere, so just bear with me. A little background information. I am 23 years old and I am a senior in college. My major is Criminal Justice. I am not sure what I want to be yet, but I am pretty sure that I chose the correct field. Yet, I am still a little unsure. I mean, I am just not sure if I will be satisfied or appreciated. You know? Like I should make enough money to live comfortably and hopefully have some kids and a wife. But, does the feeling of wanting more ever go away? Should it go away? By more, I do not mean be rich or anything. I simply mean satisfaction. Do you ever reach that point in your life where you can say "I have done enough". I really enjoy helping people. That is why I chose criminal justice. Not to arrest people, but to help those in need. But I already know that there will always be more people that need help and I realize that it doesn't matter how much help you give most times it won't work. I guess what I really want to know is if any of you are satisfied? Are you happy with what you are and how you got there? Is there more you wish you could have done? And finally how do you come to grips with the fact that no matter what you do it probably won't be that great on the grand scale of things?

Yes, I am this bored. Ok so the scene is Atlanta. A SHTF scenario has broken out, you know what ever tickles your fancy. Unlike the story though, you get the options of ONE firearm of your choice and ONE bladed weapon of your choice. I would be interested to know what those choices were. Then what would be your gameplan from there? Would find a place in the city and hunker down? Plenty of resources close by, but lots of competition for those resources. Would you head for the country? Would you try to get out of the state? Go north, south, east, or west? Would you be a loner or would you try to team up with people? If you did decide to team up would you want a big group or small group? Have fun. Also, I am sure this has been asked 9,434,038,001 times in a different way or maybe the same way. For that, I apologize. Thanks, Tyler

That is probably what i'll do

Or more your all's opinion. I went and looked at handguns the other day and have narrowed it down to the Springfield XD 9mm and 40 or the Kahr 9mm or the Smith and Wesson 40. So any final opinions would be greatly appreciated. Barring any unforeseen circumstances I will be picking up one of these four tomorrow. I really liked the Springfield 9mm and the Smith and Wesson 40. Thanks, Tyler

Thanks for all the advice, I am going to look at guns later today. I don't know if I will have enough money, but still going to look.

Thanks for all of the advice..
