The more you take them apart the easier it is to reassemble, practice and all that stuff.

By far the indoor range with the best filtration system I have shot at was Guncraft (now Coal Creek Armory)in Knoxville.By far the worst is Carter's in Chattanooga. They have NO system, only a small heat pump. That was one of the many reasons I stopped having weekly matches there.

Romney,Huckabee and Hunter.I don't think the poll was wide enough(no questions on the 2nd Amendment) and I could have provided more than one answer on the immigration questions.

I just submitted my renewal yesterday... We'll see how long it takes them. Mine expires in mid-March.
Right before the old one expires.I have renewed twice now and both times sent it in a few months early and the new one comes just in time.

Every person ought to have a right to defend themselves IMHO.

I read American Handgunner,Combat Handguns and Guns. The worst mag is the Tactical Journal that IDPA puts out 4 times a year. The only issue I look at is the one covering the IDPA Nationals with the numbers on the equipment and guns/ammo used.

I'm left handed and right eye dominant. I normally shoot in a modern isosceles stance which pretty much negates the whole problem with cross eye domination.
Mirror image(right hand,left eye)ditto.

It will most likey be a bigger hit than the 9mm Federal that came out 20 years ago.
-
I didn't know matches were held at Prentice Cooper.
-
You do know that a 1911 chambered in 9mm is considered sacralige in the Tacti-Krishna cult.

Jarret is a very good instructor. It sounds like this was a basic or LE class and not a more advanced competition one.

I crack up every time I hear this.

Bad idea,I would not want to have to explain why I am not impersonating an officer.

I ended up with a Kahr CW40...
thanks everyone!
Good choice.I just found this thread and was going to suggest the Kahr Cw.

I reload .45 Colt,.45ACP,.44MAG,.357MAG,.38SPL and .223.

That is why I love Cleveland. They have 5 pistol ranges with berms around you. They say you must share if all the ranges are full but that has never been the case for me.It is like having your own private range.

Having the match on Saturday night never hurt Guncraft.Traffic is usually a pain on Friday nights and most people are running to the bank before it closes or eating out.
-
As a former match director at an indoor range myself(Carter's in Chattanooga)I can tell you that weeknights are no good.On the Thursday night match I would get maybe 6 or 8 shooters on a good night, most weeks it was 2 to 5.That was one of many reasons I quit doing it.

Maybe if they held the matches on a Saturday night turnout would be better.Guncraft in Knoxville used to have a big crowd at times when they were a USPSA club.
-
I was just informed tonight that On Target will not be doing the USPSA shoot this month (January) and may be taking a break from it for a while to come. Apparently turnout is good for them in the colder months because folks enjoy shooting indoors, but not good during the warmer months.
Yes... I realize that this is Winter and therefore turnout should be good. But it's more of a fact that they had decided not to do it in 2008.
If enough people were to honestly commit to attending some matches if On Target were to host them again --and actually show up (!!!)-- then they might take that into consideration and host them again.
FWIW Guncraft in Knoxville used to have a USPSA match at their indoor range. They held it on Saturday night and turnout was great. They would have up to 30 shooters at times.Maybe if they had the match in the evening turnout would be better.

I have shot at NTPS on several occasions including State matches and I can tell you they are hands down the nicest people in the state. If they ever finish that bypass around Nashville I will shoot up there more often.
Chattanooga Question
in Handgun Carry and Self Defense

I know it is owned by the city and there is a bar in the building so that may preclude carrying a CCW.On the other hand they used to have gun shows down there for years. But there is an exemption for gun or sports shows in public areas or buildings.
