I've got both and I'd have to say the Kimber it just built finer. There is nothing wrong with the Colt but to me it just fit and finish. If I have the Colt and the Kimber sitting side by side, I'll put the Kimber on every time. My favorite/only full size 1911 is my Custom Covert II. I have one and it shoots so nice. It's the only full size 1911 I have. Terry
