  1. My class made me realize how many idiots shouldn't be handling guns, that and there were tons of women with questions like "what if the big bad man chases me to my car and there is another guy under the car waiting to grab my ankles and pull me under the car and rape me?". I kept thinking in my mind, one, your ugly, no one will want you, two, what the **** do you drive that sits 3 foot off the ground? Three, you can't see under the car? I understand women want to be safe, and that's perfectly fine, I would help a woman with an attacker no problem. However, questions for things that would likely never happen are insane, especially when it took 3 hours to answer questions from 2 people. My hcp instructor was awesome though. Awesome job not pointing guns and teaching basic gun safety, he wouldn't even let us bring our guns in with us until we were to shoot. There were a few rednecks, one had a very nice polished 1911 with laser grips and when he shot he had the great tactical stance like your hooded neighbor. All in all great stuff, but it really made me think about all the people that shouldn't have an hcp, sounds like your class was decent considering though, congrats, now get your permit and carry proudly!
  2. ridiculous. You don't see alot of that around here but that's crazy.
  3. Jab, you make some very valid points. I like the idea of the m16/ar15 and nade' launchers and such, however like you said you have to familiarize yourself with new weapons and new vehicles. I still think one assualt rifle and a couple mags couldn't hurt though. Still, I beleive its one of the best zombie show/movies I've seen period, I could see slot of people being like they are, clueless and living day to day trying to survive.
  4. Any luck today Terry?
  5. I don't know if that's the case at all, I distinctly remember(I have all episodes on my iPhone) a couple of the women saying that this really is it, there are no other people coming and such. However, I did see rifles laying on the ground when they were approaching the CDC building in Atlanta. Can't wait till it starts coming back on.
  6. Don't worry I had it not to long ago, super easy, the worst part about the class is realizing how many people shouldn't be carrying handguns. That and your ass gets sore after sitting haha.
  7. Night of the comet-great movie. day of the dead Dawn of the dead Night of the dead Land of the dead Carriers The crazies Does grindhouse "planet terror" count? Quarintine even thoughi didn't like it Diary of the dead 8 films to die for "zombies of mass destruction" To name a few, some good some bad.
  8. Im a bigger guy but I carry my 4.5" barrel xdm now that I've got my permit, only carried it a couple times, but it's not to big for me, feels just right with an iwb, and since I wear bigger shirts to begin with my buddies said you can't even tell I'm carrying it. However I'm looking at a glock compact or an xdm compact, the only thing that really bothers me about my current xdm is the length of the mag area, with 19+1 capacity it's super long. Ive also shot the px4, it's not for me at all, just plain feels odd. Lots of people say the xdm doesnt point naturally, it's points better than any other gun I've shot that I would carry, glocks, s&w m&p, j frames and beretta and Taurus alike. Go handle/rent and shoot both. I shot the xdm @ sevier indoor range before I decided to purchase between the xdm/m&p 9mm.
  9. I gotta tell ya, I love the show and I thought one of the funnier parts was when Rick was in the store when the lady has the gun and he tells her that red means it's ready to fire hahaha. Thought the plot was planned out decent, I wouldve definitely grabbed some guns and mags myself too, even if I was in a hurry, especially if I had a handgun and lost my huge bag of guns on my way in. M16's would be my best friend in that kind of situation, **** a bunch of zombies, grenades and even launchers would be readily available in a situation like that at a refugee center I would imagine yes?
  10. I technically live on the city line of whitepine/dandridge, on an upside, took my hcp class today at sevier indoor, passed with ease.
  11. Hey fellas, I'm a new member, long time gun lover, Shot with my father for a long time. Going out for my hcp class this coming Saturday, we will see how that goes, I'm including a picture of my 3 favorite guns to shoot, although they're not the best guns I own, they're my favorite. Thanks for having me guys! Left to right Savage mark 2 .22 Mossberg mav. 88 12ga. 18.5" barrel shell sleeve, handguard(not pictured,) nebo flashlight/laser combo. Springfield armory xdm 9mm 4.5"
