Termite Contracts on home

Bought my house 8 years ago, had a termite contract through Terminix. The house had previous termite damage on a french door going out to the deck, they replaced with wood french door:screwy::cool:. So, when I bought the house, I kept up the contract. Over the years I have sucked it up and spent around $180 in the early years, and it is in the high $200's with the bill at the house right now. Can't remember how much it is exactly, I think $270 but I might be off 10 or 20 bucks. The only thing I can tell they do is they come by once a year, and look around. The "bill" they leave says inspection. I did see a swarm back several years ago and they came out and looked, I think they might have sprayed something.

I think I am getting ripped off. Am I? Anybody with some real knowledge on what they do? Our office mgr has another "local company" and she pays about half of what I do and they actually spray every year. I'm thinking I could do better with them or even the crap you buy at Homedepot, the steak system, with the bait traps that you put around the permiter and you put in the bait/poison.

What do you think?

I pay 65 bucks 4 times a year and they spray every time.

They also analyze "new" activity and let me know about it so I can stay on top.

I can call them anytime for a respray at no charge if that activity crops up.

It is a local show, not a national chain. Service is outstanding.
