Loveless Cafe 'Biscuit Lady' Dies - Nashville News Story - WSMV Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The famed "Biscuit Lady" of Nashville's Loveless Cafe has died.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said that Carol Fay Ellison, who has been with the cafe for almost 30 years, had been getting treatment but didn't comment on the nature of her medical condition.

"A trusted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she was a vital link in the Loveless Cafe tradition and will be missed by many," said Loveless Cafe owner Tom Morales in a statement Monday.

Funeral arrangements haven't been made.

The Loveless Cafe is famous for its biscuits, red-eye gravy and fried chicken. Ellison guarded the secret recipe for the biscuits.

She appeared on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," NBC's "Today Show" and competed on "Throwdown! with Bobby Flay."
