I Need Your Expertise Again Please

Last night I went to the gun shop to check on my Berretta's progress. While there, I was once again drooling over the PF9 that I want and eventually got into a conversation with one of the guys that works there. After talking an hour or so, I'm now very interested in a S&W 642 Airweight revolver. I learned tons about it last night, it fit in my pocket well, etc. But after checking them out again this morning, the prices I'm finding are all over the board. What is a reasonable price for a new one? I've found it to be anywhere from $398 - $450. Is that about right?

Those prices are about right ,if you check S&W MSRP its alot more than that. You should be able to find a used one for less. Not only S&W but other makes that are similar size. Check out prices on gunbroker.com or just do a search for that particular revolver.

I recently traded in an unfired glock (won in a contest) for a model 442 S&W j-frame. I believe it is this one:

I believe that a good price new, would be around $410ish for either model.

You'd have to ask Hero Gear if the prices in this thread are still accurate, but he's listing S&W 642's for TGO members at $399.

When I bought new one a year or so ago, it was about $450 with tax & TICS

I bought a 442(same as 642 but blued) from Rabbi (www.eastsidegunshop.com) in November for 444.98 out the door. He had a 642 that he was offering at the same list price($398) but I like the blued version. Give him a call.
