Anyone around Cookeville down to shoot and BBQ?

Hey everyone! Just looking to make some new gun owner friends in the Cookeville area. I would like to go to a local range, field, or whatever, and do some shooting. If anyone knows of a good place, I love to plink (I think that's the right term) and shoot cans and bottles. As you can see, I'm still green to all of this official gun owner terminology and forum-ness, but have loved owning and shooting guns since I was little.

Also, afterwards, I could fire up the grill and everyone can BYOM&B and chill out with some homebrew and stories. Who knows, we may just figure out the solution to the world's problems.

Most any weekend is good for me. Reply if you are interested.

Hey Burgan... yeah, it's my main place to go. It's a nice place, I was just thinking of shooting up some bottles and cans... but I'm down for whatever.

It doesn't really matter for me. I don't have the land however to do plinking on so I try and do range visits. However, I have been to the range in awhile. I'm surprised there aren't more Cookeville guys on here.

I would think twice before shooting bottles, they make a mess that is hard to clean up. Cans are easier to clean up. Just make sure you leave the place you shoot clean. We don't want to give shooters a bad name. I have even cleaned up after people that have been there before me so the land owner won't get mad and shut the place down. Thanks for understanding. Don

ABSOLUTELY, We could round up SEVERAL members from the Cookeville area for an early spring get together. I work with a couple of TGOers and I'm sure they'd be up for it. I've got a cousin who lives in TX but owns a little over 100 acres in the Dodson Branch Community (about 10 min N of TTU). I've been meaning to call him. I'm sure I can talk him into use of it.

I'm right outside of Cookeville (20 mins). I used to spend a ton of time at Outdoor Junction when my buddy Scott worked there. I shot IDPA there as well. Their gunsmith, Jason, is a really good guy.

I would have no problem with a meet & greet. Would he nice to hang out with some fellow shooters.

Well I shoot IDPA and I shoot just about every weekend somewhere either at a match or the local range here in Gainesboro.:)

Just curious, are you familiar with The Bridge Church there in Gainesboro?

adamween: I was just wondering where we stand on a cookout/shootout in the Cookeville area. Have you contacted your cousin about using his property?
