We took the course through S.A.T.S.

Took the handgun carry permit course yesterday, in Franklin through SATS. Folks, the instructors were great and have a lot of experience in many areas around law enforcement, military, competetive shooting, etc.. We shot 48 rounds on the range, a various distances from the target. I actually learned a lot in the course, some of it was a bit dry and boring, but it's stuff they have to read to you. I was interested in learning most about when it is self-defense to use deadly force, the class clearly explained all those situations. I really enjoyed the class through SATS, I plan to take additional types of courses through them.

I don't know what was said in your class so I am not speaking of it specifically, but there have been many on here that were given either bad or flat out wrong information when it comes to some laws and other info. So don't let your continued education be only on the range or from others. Also laws change so do your best to keep up with them.

All that being said...it is always great to hear of another citizen getting his/her HCP.

As I stated in another post, I too, took my class through SATS in Franklin. They were a great bunch of guys, and I find myself recommending them to people who don't even ask. They tried their best to keep the class from putting us to sleep. I plan on going back for more of their classes in the future.

Congrats on taking the class.and like Fallguy said,be sure to look into the gun laws for yourself and to not go by what some body else says.There have been a many a person on here(including myself a time or two)that thought the law said X because of the HCP class when it really says Z.
