well, i have used the high end rounds (except for 223/5.56 when hunting) in a few years. but used the ballistic tip 270 for many years, just awesome siver dollar size exit wound on the biggest deer at any range i took them at.

unless they were right close say 10-15 yards all of the energy of the 270 was used inside the game. the bullet pieces would be under the hide on the over side.

i would think that the bonded bullets would fix that. but to me it was not a issue with the 270. but did loose a nice buck with a 243 at about 10 yards and a ballistic tip , the deer went up like a bucking horse landed on its back as i got off the brush pile it starting kicking and was never seen again, found lots of bloody foam nothing else. pissed!

I use the Hornady Interbond 140 grain 7mm/08. Deer pretty much drop where they are, and the exit woud itsn't bad at all (well, maybe for the deer). They hold together pretty well. At present, I will not change my loads.

I have shot several deer with the Accubond in my 308. Very accurate and deer are dead. I have used Varget with great results.

Same here. Forty grains of Varget pushes that bullet at about 2900 foot per second. It's a awesome load, and the Grandkids can handle the recoil very well. Even the 5 year old loves shooting it.
