Adjusting tritium sights.

Recommended Posts

I have some Novak tritium sights on a 1911 pistol. I am wanting to adjust the point of impact in the windage plane. What is the best way to do this WITHOUT a sight adjustment tool? If the sights were not tritium I would simply loosen the windage screw and tap the sight over with a rubber mallet. But I am afraid this might damage the capsule on the sights. Is this a correct assumption? Any suggestions?

When you say: "What is the best way to do this WITHOUT a sight adjustment tool?"... do you mean you don't have access to one or that you don't want to use one?
