Hunting Big South Fork

I hunt Big South Fork several times a year, I know it is a popular place for other hunters as well as horseback riders. It seems like no matter where in the woods I might be eventually you here the rustle of some leaves only to turn to see some one riding a horse thruogh the woods and not on the horse trails. It gets frustrating but I know they have the right to be there as much as I do. I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problem on public land with the horses or even other hunters coming in on top of you?

No i never have and i hunt there a few times through out the year.I also ride horses up there and never seen anyone riding off the trails or seen where they have been. What parts do you hunt?I think BSF doesn't get alot of hunting pressure at all.I have only ran into 1 other person while hunting there before. But then again i don't hunt opening weekends there.I mainly go after hogs.

I've hunted there and hiked the John Muir trail a few times. Yeah, the horses tear the crap out of everything. It really sucks humping a horse trail, not to mention all the flies.

If I was in charge, they'd get treated worse than dirtbikes in terms of access, because they are. The tree huggers love em I guess. I can't figure it out.

Does BSF follow the same time schedule as far as the various seasons in TN? By that I mean do they follow the same schedule as twra or is it something different?

I have been going to BSF for over 15 years now for various recreational pursuits. I used to avidly climb there because of its "remote" setting. Then when mtb'ing was allowed I did that for a while. Here recently it has been long hiking/camping trips. Now I would like to try some hunting there if possible.
