Hill Top Firearms Training

Recommended Posts

I was there last weekend for a pistol class.  The owner is a really nice guy.  I would describe the range as spartan/no frills.  It is exactly what you need and not much else.  Lots of construction underway.  If I didn't have access to a private range and I lived near Dover I would shoot there on the regular.

I talked to Jerry on the phone today. Seems like a great dude. How far is it from Clarksville? I know where Dover is but just curious because I will probably have to miss school to attend.

He's not far west of Dover on Pumpkin Ridge Rd. I've known Jerry for many years now, and I can tell you that he is a good man. He's always had a good way with people, he's a good trainer, very knowledgeable, and yet always willing to learn from others as well. There's no arrogance about him either, he's fun to be around. I definitely wouldn't lump him in the same category with the "gun shop commandos."

BTW: Coming from Charlotte you would take Hwy 49 through Vanleer into Houston County, through Erin, when you get to the intersection of 49 and 147, hang a right, which will put you back on 49, take 49 all the way to Dover. At the red light in Dover, turn left onto Hwy 79, through Dover (STAY ABOUT A COUPLE MPH UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT IN DOVER, THEY'RE RIDICULOUS!), a few miles out of town Pumpkin Ridge will be on your right. Just as soon as you turn right off of 79, turn left (runs parallel to 79), then you'll see his sign on the right. It's a long gravel driveway.

Thanks man. That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm really hoping I get a chance to take one of these classes but this is the time that all of my shoots start cranking up.

Hilltop is getting a ton of work done on the range as well as a new storefront and larger classroom.  Jerry is a great instructor who teaches from real world experience. He will teach you the skills you need to know to stay alive, not like many others who will have you paying $400 to burn ammo and look cool on youtube.
