  1. When mine came Friday, I was as excited as a kid at Christmas.........and then, like you, was disappointed. It's half the length of the old "video" (which was VHS) but just not well produced IMO. The liver oxidization stuff was a snoozefest, and the whole thing seemed a little random and not organized very well. It's better than what we had, but not by much.

  2. more from Chicago.........the following gun makers' products have been deemed "unsafe" and therefore, not registrable with the Chicago Police Department.

Among the notables, anything made by Hi-Point, Bryco, Jennings, and Jimenez and some Harrington and Richardson models. Also, no Daisy brand.....as in BB guns.

  3. Federal law is quite clear on that matter:

"Gun Control Act of 1968, Sec. 926A, Interstate transportation of firearms:

Notwithstanding any other provision of any law or any rule or regulation of a State or any political subdivision thereof, any person who is not otherwise prohibited by this chapter from transporting, shipping, or receiving a firearm shall be entitled to transport a firearm for any lawful purpose from any place where he may lawfully possess and carry such firearm to any other place where he may lawfully possess and carry such firearm if, during such transportation the firearm is unloaded, and neither the firearm nor any ammunition being transported is readily accessible or is directly accessible from the passenger compartment of such transporting vehicle:Provided, That in the case of a vehicle without a compartment separate from the driver's compartment the firearm or ammunition shall be contained in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console."

  4. I think my XD might be defective. Went to chili's last night on g-town road near wolfchase(not posted) with a loaded fire arm and somehow everyone was still alive when i left. Not even anyone injured from a bullet wound......their has to be something wrong with mine also.

Hang on a doggone minute, here...........you're saying you took a scary, deadly GUN into a place where alcoholic beverages were, and a chaotic bloodbath did not erupt ?

You did something wrong. You have disappointed the mainstream media.

What are you, anyway ? A responsible, law-abiding, trained, background-checked citizen ? SHEEEEEEESH

  5. We had 4 great days in The Windy City.

Friendly folks, great food, beautiful and clean downtown, and the Reds beat the Cubs in 10 innings at Wrigley. Really fun trip.

Italian beef at Al's, Chicago-style dogs at Portillo's, John Hancock Tower observation deck, Navy Pier, double-decker bus tour, architectural river cruise, and Millennium Park.

We loved Chicago. Going back for a week next year.

Thanks to all who contributed travel tips.

update - I spent a couple hours Saturday with the puppy. I am now informed that he is all retriever - no pyrenees. He has been wormed and had all his puppy shots, except rabies. The current owner said that he would be willing to pay for the rabies shot. The little fella wants to play ALL THE TIME. He will work with "sit", "down" and "heel" commands so far. I took several pics of him when he would be still long enough. I can e-mail them to you, but not post them here. Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send you some pics of him.

  7. Hey guys,

An elderly friend of the family (against all advice) acquired a brand new Golden Retriever/Great Pyrennese (sp. ?) puppy. We all told him that the puppy would require lots of play and attention and it would be hard on him. He got the dog anyway. Now, of course, he says he doesn't have the energy or room to run that the puppy needs.

"Bo" is an extremely energetic, playful guy. Around 4 mos. old right now. 20-25 lbs. right now I would guess. I don't have a pic at the moment, but he is adorable now and will grow up to be a big, good looking dog. Plus he's named Bo :D.

Bo needs a loving household that will give him lots of attention and room to run and play. Gentle, good with dogs kids would be great. A farm or rural home would be good too. The old guy has done a little training with him, and Bo shows signs of being smart and easy to train if someone would dedicate some time to him.

If I lived in the country, I'd take him in a minute. So, if you or anyone you know is willing to give Bo a good home and what he needs, let me know. I'll get you hooked up with his current owner and see what we can do.

    Thanks.

  8. They showed us some bullet marks in some walls around town that they said came from gunfire during the era of the prohibition gang wars, but they really could have been from the night before for all I know.:)
