  1. The billboards I have seen around town say the show is this weekend, the 9th and 10th.
  2. Kind of off-topic, but would you choose the show in Franklin or the one at the Nashville fairgrounds the weekend before? I need to go to Nashville one of these 2 weekends and trying to decide which show to check out. Figure you may have some insight since you are a dealer.
  3. Yesterday I put 200 rounds through my newly purchased XD9sc and had no issues whatsoever. A lot of the shots were dead center, but low...think that has a lot to do with my technique than the gun. This is the first handgun I have shot in a few years, but I am excited about putting many more rounds through it and working on my shooting. This will also be my primary CCW weapon after I get my permit. If you want more biased opinions, be sure to check out the forums at http://www.xdtalk.com.
  4. Thats what I was thinking...I usually drive through the area a couple times a month...probably enough to make it worth it.
  5. Collecting watches and doing just about anything outdoors (kayaking, backpacking, mountain biking, etc)...
  6. A lot of the ammo I saw at BP was quite a bit higher than Academy Sports. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll check it out next time I'm in Nashville.
  7. Steve at Silvers Firearms near Chattanooga has a bunch of Stag lowers for $109...
  8. You definitely want to hold a Glock and XD before making a decision. Very noticeable differences in the grip angle and overall size. I have pretty small hands so the Glock just didn't feel comfortable to me at all. I don't think you could go wrong w/ either make.
  9. Must have been a sale or a price increase...Blazer is now $9.99 and $10.99 respectively at SW. Went up $2/box overnight!
  10. That is a nice price...I shopped around for awhile and finally found a new XD9 SC for $500 OTD (included tax and TICS). TFOs were another $100 - $110 installed, so thats right in line, if not a few bucks more than your price. In this area, its hard to find a XD9 SC for under $450 new (most average around $480+ from what I encountered), then factor in night sights, etc.
  11. I found that SW had Blazer 50 ct. boxes for $7.99. If you bought one of those "Kids Coupon Books" there is a $10 off $50 that is good on ammo. Works out to be a bit cheaper than the white box Winchester at WM.
  12. Probably too late now, but FWIW I've never seen any signs posted there.
  13. I have read about a range in Montlake (around Soddy Daisy) that is supposed to be pretty nice to shoot skeet. I may also stop in at Henry Horton SP when I go to Nashville. Other than those two places, it will probably be on friend's land w/ a hand launcher. Do you know of any other places in the area? I'm pretty new to the area and a total newbie to skeet shooting.
  14. Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I just purchased my first gun (Mossberg 500 Field / Defense combo) and plan on using it for recreational skeet shooting and home defense, maybe get into duck hunting somewhere down the road. Currently living and working in Chattanooga...I'm glad I stumbled upon this site, it looks like a great place to hang out and learn a few things. -Brandon
