  1. For quality and price, I agree that Saiga is the way to go. They're still affordable, and with a little conversion work you end up with a Russian AK rifle.

I also have two WASR's, and they both work great. The WASR is a Romanian version of the AK. Lots of people have had problems with them. They used to be really cheap, but their price has really gone up to the point where the Saiga is a much better option.

  2. The Warsaw buttstock is about 1.25" shorter than the NATO version.

The stock Saiga looks longer than an AK because the sporting buttstock is longer, and the handguard is longer than the normal AK handguards. If you replace them as part of the conversion process, the Saiga will look a lot different. Its a sweet rifle.

  3. I have a Del-Ton 20" and a 16" middie....very happy with both, especially for the price. Customer service is great.

Del-Ton was really backed up for several months...hopefully they are getting caught up on orders. Check out their page over on arf.com for the latest.

  4. If I'm not mistaken the Stoeger O/U's are made in Turkey. Not that it matter's, they are of fine quality. Benelli is the company that owns the name.

Auburn, are you specifically looking for an O/U shotty or just a shotgun? 'Cause the last time I was there they still had NEF Parder Pump 12 ga's for 199.95, if you are bent on buying from Gander.

I'm leaning toward the O/U for skeet shooting. No loyalty to Gander, they just had the Stoegers for $359. Thanks to all for the reports.

  5. I wasn't really impressed with the IO's I've seen. I handled them side by side with a Century WASR-10/63 and the Century had better fit and finish. It might have just been this particular rifle so YMMV.

This might be the first nice thing ever said about Century's fit and finish:D

  6. No ugly screws or difficult rivets to work with. Has the stop built in. The big one is if you receiver was not already cut for the PG you don't have to cut the hole. Which is a little tedious to say the least. It looks professional and not all hacked up like some I've seen.

Thanks. Not cutting the hole might make it worth it. Does this work on Saiga rifles as well as the shotgun?

  7. I have three Century WASR 10's that all work just fine. I did have a feed problem with one of them, and Classic Arms promptly replaced it. I got them when the prices were under $300.....I wouldn't pay today's prices for them. See if you can find a Saiga and convert it.
