This exact same thing happened when I lived in Virginia a couple of years ago. The Roanoke newspaper (which is VERY anti-gun) published the names of the law-abiding handgun permit holders as a followup to the Va Tech shootings (http://www.roanoke.com/editorials/trejbal/wb/108160). You can guess how that went over. There was a well-documented case of a woman who had a permit and was in hiding from an abusive ex-husband...until her name and address was published. She had to move.
After advertisers and the newspaper (the reporter in particular) got "contacted" by thousands of permit holders and supporters, the paper removed the list and issued an apology...sort of: http://www.roanoke.com/gunpermits/
Like here, the legislature got involved and passed a law to shield the list from public view.
The public does not have a right to know everything that the government does. Consider that the State also issues a permit or license to people to drive and register a car. Correctly, this information is shielded frrom public view to prevent a stalker from identifying potential victims simply by looking up ther license plate number.

I think your timing has to be right. In the past few weeks, I have ordered a spam can of 7.62 x 39, and two separate orders of 223. Two of my three orders arrived within 3 days. The third (from Aim Surplus) took about 2 weeks.

I just got 500 rounds of PMC brass from Bud's for $190 delivered. It works out to about 38 cents per round. Ordered Tuesday, arrived Friday.

I have one that I bought about 4 years ago. It's an OK .22 for plinking, but nothing special. It's built cheap. Extra 10-round mags are vey hard to find, and when you do they are expensive.

I like Del-Ton too. I built two of their kits, and both work fine. The kits that include lower parts and a stock are often priced below what most places charge for just an upper.

I checked at the door before we left, and the RK stamp on our hand was only good for today.
That happened to me with this show once before. When I found out that the Friday stamp wasn't good for the weekend, I complained to the show organizer...who really didn't care. If they are not going to tell you that some vendors are missing on Friday, they should give you a break and let you come back no charge when everyone is there.

Oops. Mistype.
Corrected should read JSE, not JES (they're the 2 ladies from Missouri that piss offs all the AR parts dealers cause they sell stuff so inexpensively).
I tpye atrcoiuosly.
JSE is great. Too bad they won't be there.

I'm closing in on 120 days just to get my valid HCP reissued to show my new address. Anyone else run into this kind of delay for a reissue? I have called the state office, and they said there is nothing they can do.

Welcome to the "disease". Once you get one, you'll want another one.

What's the finish like on a Saiga anyhow? It seems like quite people who do the conversions end up putting GunKote on their's as well. Is this because the factory finish leaves something to be desired?
Black paint. Nothing fancy, but its OK.

Just a little bit, say two inches. There is a plastic piece around it, so that it looks like a grip extention. Actually, I'm not sure I paid that much more. Their on very cheap on line either.
Those 15-rounders (by ProMag I think) get mixed reviews. They either work fine, or they never do. I hope yours work for you.
I hate that the Hi-Point factory mags are only ten rounds, but they feed real well.

Here's mine:

Well, I guess I'm drinking the cool-aid now. I just picked up one at the show for $225 with a NCStar 4 power scope on it. Thought it was a fair price. Picked up a couple of spare 15 round magazines too. Paid to much for them, but who knows if we are going to be able to pick them up in the future. I'll let you all know how it shoots in a weekend or two.
I assume the 15 round mags stick out the bottom of the pistol grip a few inches????

I ordered a kit on 11/06, and am still waiting. I am hoping that they are getting close to me...maybe this week.

Not PMags, but looks like The Armory has some aluminum 30 rounders for $12.99:

They are in Virginia Beach. I've dealt with them before with good results.

Dicks had a sale on shotgun shells the other day...$3.98 a box. I went over there and discovered that they were 20 round boxes, not the usual 25.

I ordered Nov 8th myself, and yeah.. still waiting.
Was your optioned out very much? Mine was.
Mine was a pretty-stock middy. FYI, you can get on the Del-Ton forum over on arf.com and submit your order number to Del-Ton. They will reply with a status report for you.

I was at Gander Mountain the other day, and noticed that they had some 5.56 in plain brown boxes (I think Federal) for $8.99. I opened a box, and the rounds looked like brass case reloads. Has anyone ever shot this stuff?

Not to de-rail the thread, but when did you order?
Nov 6....still waiting.

Once you have the AK, you can find an AK collapsable stock for around $55. There are lots of pistol grips out there for $25 or so. Assuming your barrel is threaded, there are several variants of brakes/ suppressors starting around $20. Note: with the current run on AK's, these prices may be low.

I have a DoubleStar stripped lower that I bought for $110 a few months ago. I'm awaiting a Del-Ton M4 kit that cost me $455. Total build price should be around $575.

I saw a GSG-5 rifle this weekend. It is a German-made clone of the MP5 in .22LR caliber. Anybody have any experience with them? It looks like a really cool little weapon for under $500.

You can't go wrong with a Del-Ton kit. I have a 20" and a 16" M4 middie from them. Both work great. I built the 16" first, and prefer it because of size and weight. But then I decided I wanted the "classic" M16 look too, so I built a 20" A2.
