  1. Thank you. So if I go get that is that all I need besides beads? What's the difference between sand blasters and bead blasters? Just the nozzle?
  2. hmm thank you Dolomite, I'll check out tractor supply. Is this the one you are refering too: JobSmart® Benchtop Abrasive Blast Cabinet, 32 lb. Capacity - 3951103 | Tractor Supply Company
  3. yea thats true, is there anywhere local, Knoxville-ish that sells these types of things?
  4. What about this: The Barrel Blaster We have a 20gal compressor, might not be big enough......
  5. I want to try to get into refinishing some guns, but dont want to spend a whole ton. I've got parkerizing and bluing stuff coming. I was just going to use white vinegar and steel wool to get the current blue off, but someone mentioned a bead blaster is a whole lot easier. Where would I find one, are they fairly inexpensive (<200-250)? If it is way outa my league, is white vinegar the best thing to use to de-blue my gun. Also my trigger guard is anodized metal, so I dont/cant parkerize it, I suppose I'll have to paint it, what kinda paint do I need to use?
  6. Call around if you can, tell them you'd like to do a FFL for "Insert gun here", when he says they have that in stock, ask them if they can get close to CTD's asking price. You gota think, if the FFL fee is $25, and the gun costs more than $250 thats pretty much "taxes" you would had to pay in store. I've bought online twice (got a Springfield XD9SC for $350) Called local FFL and he said he couldnt even get close and he doesnt blame me for buying it. I do spend quiet a bit of my money in there though........ Now the next question is..... WHATCHA GETTING?!!?!!
  7. Hey fellas, I have a Charter Arms 38 with the 2" barrel. The barrel on it isn't on straight, what I mean by that is it is NOT crooked, but the sights are to the left a little bit. I called a fellow in my town, said he can unscrew it, put a shim in it, and retighten it for about $50. I was just wonderin if thats the best way to go, and if thats a decent price. The gun is a cheapo I am going to try to reblue myself so dont want to spend a ton on it. I am in Sevier if anyone knows anyone. Thanks guys!
  8. Check Craigslist, you should be able to find one suited for you for very cheap. I bought my 5x8 wood floor for $450.
  9. I would like to shoot one, but I dont think I could spend that kinda money for one (albeit that is the cheapest I've seen).
  10. I have the HTC Rezound and my GF has the Thunderbolt. Switching from Palm Pre 2's, these things are amazing! I love 4g, here in Sevierville I get full signal in town, and consistently see speeds from 9 mbps down and 5-8 mbps up. That is amazing! I think as they roll out more 4g it'll get better, and I believe if you can hold of a little bit longer better phones will be coming out. I get better service on my phone, than she does on hers, and they are approx 8 months difference. You can check on vzw and see if you are in "the network" for 4g, if it says "extended coverage" than you will be very spotty, like I have to stand in the right place in my room to get it. At work I am constintly listening to espn radio, which of course you can do that on 3g as well, but just knowing if I need to download something I can, SUPERFAST. So in wrap up, I wont have another non-4g phone.
  11. Hey guys, so apparently I joined back in June, but never posted, HA! Im newly into guns, about a years worth, and have welt and delt a few in my time. I mainly got into it for CCW purposes, but am finding shooting is almost as relaxing as riding motorcycle. I suppose it is my winter hobby . I have convinced my dad to get a C&R a few months ago, and love it, I've just barely scratched the top, but have a 91.30 and a CZ82. I also bought a M57 for the ole man, but he decided he didnt like it, so it went bye-bye, and I recently had a Star BM 9mm I sold. I am now getting into bluing, as I have a couple out revolvers I want to try to mess around with. Gonna try the "express rust" method. Got my Charter Arms taken apart today. Ordered my bluing today, gotta wait for it to get here, but gonna soak it in some white vinegar and take some steel wool to it. I know preparation is key. So that's about me, don't usually post much on forums, just lurk until something piques my interest. Oh 1 question: Does anyone know where I can get my 2" revolver barrel straightened? When I bought it, it is hanging to the left (Thats what she said!) and I'd like to get it fixed. Dont want to spend a ton, as I dont have a ton into it, and its going to be my first rebluing gun.
