Excellent find! The 3" is hard to find, but balance really well to me.

Congratulations! My first thoughts would be 'amazing trip of a lifetime!', followed by 'I have to start climbing hills every weekend with a heavy pack' !!

Thanks guys, there is always a lot of knowledge and assistance here!

thanks guys, I will be looking for a 10/22 (actually 2, as I will take class too)

School me on Appleseed and the 10/22 Liberty Rifle mods, please.
After hunting this last fall, daughter wants to learn field positional shooting (yeah!). I have shot NRA /CMP rifle matches, so I initially thought a CMP clinic with an AR. However Appleseed with a low recoil / low cost practice rimfire might be another good option.
Assuming we do an Appleseed then I will need to buy something for her, and we may as well do it right.
Thanks,
Tim aka stealthgoat

That is a really nice deer, and you get extra cool points for the rifle :)

I really like my old Seecamp 32 for everyday pocket carry.
It's not as light as some, but has much smaller profile than a Smith 442 for example.

Very pretty rifle, and great 1st group!

Welcome to TGO!

We went to the range one time w/ so much stuff, when we sat and totaled it up, the guns were worth more then the truck!
Yup, and that could be hard to explain

I have had a Milt Sparks PCH for about 8 years, and I am very pleased with it.

I see some carry a comb. I have not had enough hair to comb in about 10 years, so that leaves me room for a spare mag instead

I went this morning and I thought it was one of the better shows too.
To me there were some good deals walking around, especially hunting rifles.

I have seen shotguns at Stones River, so I think should be okay. Owl Hollow / CHMR is excellent suggestion too, but may be a little further drive from Nashville.

I am glad the P-32 is working out well for you, I also hear good things about them.
And while I do love my Seecamp 32, that Seecamp .380 picture looks very interesting !!

Very nice!
Do you feel the better fit comes from different cheek piece, or the stock design itself? I have a A3 and I was looking at an adjustable A4 ..
thanks

I honestly have never heard of anyone running a magwell on a bobtail 1911. Seems highly counter productive to the purpose of the bobbed mainspring housing and frame.
I am sorry, that was confusing. I wasn't proposing a magwell on a bobtail, but rather that the small additional amount a magwell adds might make a difference, as the small amount removed via a bobtail makes a difference at least for me.

I think it depends on your circumstance.
I carry a bobtailed commander IWB, and just rounding that bobtail corner off made a significant difference concealing under a summer T shirt. So for me at least a magwell is much more noticable, not the weight but the 'print'.
But if you are carrying under a good vest or jacket, you probably won't notice a difference at all.
120$ too much?

I don't think that is way out of line, as this job does require some time to do right. A builder that I use quotes "Thread muzzle and recut crown $120-160. Includes indicating the bore, threading your muzzle, and cutting a new crown" .
