  1. New NXS 8-32x56 price multiple sources is $1,900 + tax, the eBay nice used one is $1,749.99 + tax... $1,200 cash and I'll include rings, thanks
  2. I haven't tried it yet, but it's definitely on my list this year. Do you time it based on water flow?
  3. WTS: Nightforce NXS 8-32x56 Scope - MOA Red Illuminated, MOA adjustments, NP-R2 reticle (edit, I thought was NP-R1 but see picture to confirm. picture is upside down) Used scope with no box & papers. No zero stop or high speed turrets. I'll include a standard 3 inch sunshade /glare shield. Pictured rings (Badger?) fit M70 bolt not included, but are available to buyer of scope for $50 at time of sale. Nightforce was used as a F-Class / match trainer on multiple M70 match rifles, and it has also taken several deer. Exterior: Small but still noticeable use marks. Some faint ring marks - most are 'shading' (not heavy dents / gouges) but still visible marks (see pictures) Glass: Really good used scope, glass is not perfect but no scratches or heavy swirls, nothing that distracts in use. Could use a good cleaning. I take glass pictures, but I'm no photographer and it's always better to see in person. I'm asking $1,200 cash face to face middle TN (Nolensville Franklin Cool Springs) or happy to meet you at Strategic Edge. If you have any questions or need additional pictures just let me know. Thanks, Tim
  4. WTS: Swarovski Habicht 2,5-10x42mm Duplex Very capable classic "set & forget" hunting scope, excellent low light glass. FFP, 1cm adjust, 30mm tube, Duplex, NOT original box. Exterior is in excellent condition, not 100% perfect but very presentable. Has a power ring 'ding', see close-up picture with red arrow. Glass is very good to near excellent condition. Glass condition is of course very subjective and while not perfect, I just don't see anything that detracts. It's hard for me to take pictures of glass, so I took multiple on several days in several different lighting conditions and angles, please review pictures. In the right light I do see a "pin point" size dot at 12 o'clock in front, it's not noticeable to me behind the scope and and might clean up. Due to lighting some pictures appear 'rose tinted' but does not appear that way in your hand. Asking $800 face to face in Middle TN ( Nolensville / Cool Springs ). I have listed on another forum, but I would really prefer FTF here because glass condition is so subjective, and prefer you see it versus pictures. If you have any questions or need additional pictures just let me know. Tim
  5. Carl Zeiss Conquest MC 4.5x14-50mm Target. Target turrets, #20 Z-Plex Duplex. Used scope with box & paperwork. '1 click = 1/4 Inch / 100 yards'. Exterior: Very Nice, not new with some small marks, most noticeable on parallax knob (by blue Zeiss label). Some faint ring marks (more like a shading, not a scratch or gouge) primarily on bottom. Glass : Very nice after thorough cleaning. Not "new / pristine" with some small marks, but not distracting. I know glass quality is very subjective and clearly I'm no glass expert (or professional picture taker). I had for sale on another forum, but it's hard to show lens and I would prefer face to face so you can see. I'm asking $500 in middle TN (Nolensville Cool Springs etc.) If you have any questions or need additional pictures just let me know. Tim
  6. yup. my brand new shiny 'international man of mystery photog vest' didn't look at all like I thought it did..
  7. FrankD, Do you reload, or will you be buying factory target ammo? I really like 308, and I certainly shoot it more than other rounds. If you reload than you have a lot of flexibility. But if I didn't reload I'd be looking at other options too for 500-600 yards. Besides the 6.5 Creedmoor you mentioned, a good fast twist 223 bolt gun with good ammo is a great way to get started, and is a lot cheaper to feed too while you are learning wind. Just a thought.... Best regards, Tim
  8. That is great news! I spoke with him a couple weeks ago about a small pistol project, so next rifle bedding job I was going to speak with Echo 3 first before sending a rifle out. ...and I still would really like to learn to do this myself...
  9. hey Rob, It really seems like it shouldn't be that hard, but I would be 'that guy' who has a glued in action. So I have not found anyone local, but have you talked to Echo 3 in Chapel Hill? Let us know if you figure it out! Tim
  10. Yes. I'm a long time Colt 1911 guy, but I traded into a really nice used Les Baer PII 45acp. We still tend to shoot a Colt S70 9mm more at the range, but PMII is really an excellent 1911.
  11. Searching CMP website it looks like Oakridge ORSA, Knoxville, Memphis (lakeland) for CMP sanctioned. There are several High Power / XTC type matches locally (some short course & some full) but not necessarily CMP; AEDC in Tullahoma TN (Mid South Marksmen), Maury County Gun Club (short course), Dead Zero Shooting park. There are probably more, that is what I can think of. Also a longer drive, but CMP has locations in Alabama - I haven't been there but Talladega is supposed to be extremely nice.
  12. Looks like a rack number to me to me, too. I didn't see that type of rack number referenced in "Crown Jewels", but many different armorers / units over time. Nice rifle!
  13. Was that the Steele Fun Shoot? I haven't been there, but the range looks really nice.
