  1. Oh yeah its brand new. Havent looked up the mfg date but those dont sit unsold new very long
  2. I have left powder in my powder dispenser for about 48 hrs and it has still shot fine. I dont make a habit of doing it, it is so humid in TN and i dont want duds. Just out of curiosity, what is the longest anyone has left their powder out and used it?
  3. Ugh, what a horrible feeling. Realizing your new gun doesnt meet your expectations. Ive had my Gen 4 Glock 19 about two weeks now, long enough to take several pieces of brass right in the kisser. Handloads and factory loaded ammo.Ive read a few solutions to the problem and it looks like im going to be on the phone with glock tomorrow. Anybody else had this problem? Try as i might, i still cant find a pistol that comes close to replacing my CZ P-01 as #1.
  4. I see more and more online deals. Local Wal-Mart is hit or miss, with the same guys there every night with family in tow. Saw .22lr thunderbolt for $2.99/50 on the natchez shooter's supply website. So I try to buy some.......apparently they wont ship it to TN, AL, or GA for some reason. Never dealt with them before, struck me as odd though
  5. Nope. PM. Was happening at 6 or so. They dialed it back yesterday and put it all out around 4pm. Plenty of black box .223 and 115 gr jhp 9mm. The .223 was selling at over $11 a box. So I passed. Never been so happy to be a reloader. R_bert, the only shop I have heard of reselling Walmart ammo for profit is a place called The Sport Shop in La follette, but it's probably happening in a few more places I'm sure
  6. Yup. Stock is put out between 6 and 7. 530 is when the line forms. Usually about ten dudes every night. Some of those scrotes bring their families to circumvent the 3 box limit.
  7. True dat. I'm having a tough time not becoming hostile to the jackasses outside my local Wal-Mart doing just that.
  8. Huh, very intetesting! I thought it looked a little old but came to me very clean. All pieces are aac. Got 200 and they were vacuum sealed. No idea when they were primed but the primers are sealed as well. If they fire properly im gonna get more for sure
  9. Im dispensing with a lyman electronic measure. I have been using the CFE 223 as well for the light bullets which dispenses very nicely through my rcbs powder thrower. Usually stays within 1/10gr. If anyone wants to trade some CFE or milsurp equivalent for the Rl15 Im open to offers. Love that stuff
  10. If you need some pm me. I can get more for a decent price. Didnt want to say anything because it could be construed as "third party" and i dont want to be banished. A friend is liquidating some inventory. Powder, primed aac brass, etc. As for the powder though i believe im gonna try out some heavier A-max and see how that goes. Thanks for the input
  11. I just got a good deal on some Reloader 15 and some primed brass. All of my bullets that i have for .223 are 55gr fmj and 40gr v-max. The concensus i have read on some reloading data sites is that since R-15 is a slower powder it is more suited for a heavy bullet in the 62-77gr range. Is anybody using R-15 for lightweight bullets (like a 40gr v-max maybe), and what kind of charge weights are you working with?
  12. Does anyone have any experience working with these? I am currently using a Lee 3 die set for my AR rounds and they function fine, but a friend asked if I wanted his RCBS. Just wondering if anyone has used them and what the concensus is regarding their performance and whether it would be any better or worse than my Lee set
  13. Aim surplus has non-windowed pmags for 12.95 in stock as of several minutes ago. I'm broke so it does me no good but hopefully someone else can capitalize on this
  14. I clicked on the button they have on their site that says "Know something we don't?". I informed them of some things they probably didn't know about themselves.
  15. I'm in Clinton too bro. Do you shoot at Norris any
  16. I dura coated the slide on an xd once. I got the spray kit that doesn't require an airbrush gun and I liked the results. I found it reasonably durable and was only like 40 bucks from Lauer weaponry. I think that it's a decent option, but for how simple it is I wouldn't pay for someone else to do it, personally
  17. Interestingly enough this article stated that this was a problem people were having with the P-01, as opposed to other models. I want to be able to use all of my handloads with this pistol, not just the fmj. I was just curious to find out if there was data available for seating the depth at a lesser depth, such as 1.000. And if so, where i should start with powder charges as I don't want to produce dangerous pressures and a guess at what charge weight i should use at that length would just be a shot in the dark.
  18. Also just was told by my brother that he tested the feeding and extraction of these rounds in his Sig P226, and they fed and extracted normally.
  19. I am relatively new to reloading. Over the past few months I have been reloading 9mm, using a 124 gr montana gold sourced from magnum materials booth at the gun shows. I have had great success with the recipe that i used.   Today i picked up some 125 gr JHP bullets from the same booth. I looked around for load data from several sources and was universally advised on using 3.8-4.2 gr charge of Titegroup (which i started at 3.8), with a OAL of 1.075". I could not find what the minimum OAL would be from any source. The bullets weighed in at 124.4 gr adn had a diameter of .355 as they should. After loading a batch of 20 to a OAL of 1.075-1.078, with a mouth diameter of 0.376 I am having trouble feeding them into my CZ P-01.   I will release the slide and chamber the round. Upon testing the feed/extraction I found it to be VERY difficult to extract. With great force i extracted the round and saw contact marks on the ogive about 1/8' past the case mouth. So I see where it is getting stuck.   I usually run either fmj or hornady critical defense 115gr rounds in the CZ, which have a much steeper taper to the tip, and have had zero malfunctions.   My question is, what is the minimum OAL for this load? It seems as if i seated the bullet deeper it would be narrower at the point where it was getting stuck, but i dont want to risk increasing the pressure to a dangerous point. Any other thoughts?   Oh, BTW, the same rounds that got stuck in the CZ fed and extracted normally with normal effort in my S&W M&P 9c.
  20. Just trolling the web at work today, and one of my favorite sites www.slickguns.com has black teflon coated AR mags for 15.99 + shipping. I didn't buy any but it calculated the shipping for 2 mags to clinton at 10.20, putting my total at just over $20 per mag. Pretty decent, but I've never dealt with the website and am unsure of the manufacturer of the mags.   Just thought you might like to know, I try to help where i can during these difficult times.
  21. Yeah the 20 round black boxes. I will keep a watchful eye and repost this thread when they get stock. I usually go about 3 -5 times a week just to look since I live very close. It is a good reliable source, and these days those are few and far between.
  22. Just left Clinton walmart about an hour ago with 15 boxes of AE black box .223 and 2 100rd boxes of 9mm. The .223 was $6.97 per and the 9mm was 19.97. As I left they were still unpacking but I saw at least 20 more black boxes as well as 7 or 8 100rd boxes of federal .223 ($34.97). I believe 5 or 6 boxes of 9mm. My safe remains well stocked due to this location. They listen to their customers and order accordingly. Lately I have seen them getting stock on Tuesday and wed nights. They are unpacking later in the evening to avoid calamity, the last few times I got ammo it came directly from pallets on the floor. If you can get in tonight or tomorrow morning do so, or else stake out this location during weekday evenings as I have been doing. It is a sure bet for what may be the last reasonable prices available at this time
  23. Top choice for a Glock is a G19 4th gen. They do everything very well except look pretty. Personally I think my P01 outperforms it on accuracy and ergonomics, and it is arguably as reliable as the G19. Being an alloy framed pistol it is almost as light as polymer, and comes in at about 600 bucks. My big turnoff for the sr9c was the huge red flag that appears on top of the slide with a loaded chamber. I prefer to G19 to the xd's as well.
  24. That looks like what i had in mind. The protac hl reviews i have read are really good, and at 600 lumens i think it will suit my outdoor needs very well. The likelihood of using that particular rifle indoors is very slim so 600 won't be excessive. Don't need a fancy handguard-specific light mount either as i can just attach a rail section to the MOE handguard and run that GG&G mount. With the reviews being what they are, I think I'm going to buy that package tomorrow. Will review as soon as possible
