Gustav was much like a few storms I lived through in NC . . . still, the worry about what might be in a hurricane is enough to just about drive you crazy before it hits . . .

I came home from vacation today and had a LOAD of ripe tomatoes on the vines, so I had 'mater samwiches . . .

Tungsten is one of the most genial guys here.

Anyone have any suggestions where I may find a .30-06 magazine for a Remington Model 742?
Numrich Arms is out.
Thanks for your help!

When you put Vince out and his #2 does better than he does, what does that mean?

I have a Browning Challenger .22 auto and a S&W Model 18 Combat Masterpiece with a 3" barrel in .22 LR.
Best shootin' in semi auto and revolver!

Long day at work . . . ordered a pizza!

I don't know of any in Nashville with female instructors. Last Saturday my wife went to Guns and Leather in Greenbrier and took the class. (Did a great job, too, if I say so . . . 46 out of 48 in the black - and she never shot before!)
I already have my permit, and Guns and Leather allowed me to sit through the course with my wife, as she was reluctant to go alone.
I would recommend them to you.

I'm staying in the Cary area for the next two months, any ideas of good dove hunting fields? I picked up a sweet older Wingmaster 870 this past weekend!
I used to live in Chapel Hill, Cary, and Wake Forest . . . there should be some dove shooting in Chatham County; take Hwy. 64 out of Raleigh to Pittsboro, the county seat. Stop at the Chatham County Sheriff's Department and ask around for some possible dove sites.

Stick to debating the issues and not the person. We don't need personal attacks here from either camp.
+1
A person's worth is judged by much more important criteria than if he or she agrees with me on every conceivable issue.

I am truly, truly sorry for your job loss.
Remember, this says nothing about you as a person; it says everything about corporate greed.
If you cannot find a job in time, take anything you can get from a temp agency until you can find what you want.
Best of everything for you . . .

Feedback please!
What is the best load of shot for a 12 ga. pump shotgun used for home defense?
What do you use?
Thanks!

The Rabbi pushed . . . and pushed . . . and was called on it and for it.
And I respect and appreciate the TGO administrators for acting when they did.

I've had one for 26 years

My first gun was a Savage over and under with a .22 Long Rifle on top and .410 on the bottom. Still think that is a good combo for kids.

When my oldest daughter turned 16, we decided she was old enough to date.
Imagine the look on her date's face when he rang the doorbell and I answered the door wearing my Colt Python in a holster and slamming the action on a pump shotgun . . .
His eyes looked like they were gonna pop out of his head!
He even had my daughter home early from the date. Hmmm . . . wonder why?

Mike, welcome to TGO.
A word of advice: go back to whomever taught your HCP class and DEMAND your money back if you were not taught the basics of carrying a firearm.
