  1. Huh. I talk to that guy about every time I go into CCA. Small world.
  2. I also own a hi-point 9mm compact. I bought it when I lived in Antioch. I was on a pretty tight budget, but I wanted to be able to defend myself at the same time. Win win.
  3. What are the laws regarding the no guns sign?
  4. I'm beginning to feel the same way. Graham and McCain are now circling the toilet thanks to the amnesty bill. Did you hear what Dianne Feinstein said over the weekend? Time.com The libs and RINOs supporting this bill are trying to spin the overwhelming NO response as being bigoted and racist, therefore voting they way they want to vote the "right thing to do" in their eyes.
  5. I saw Graham on Meet the Press a while back and he seemed like a straight shooter. He knew what was going on in Iraq and seemed to be more educated than the average politician. However, now that he's hitched his wagon to this immigration bill, I see him and McCain's once rising stars sinking into nothing.
  6. Wow, this is a very gracious invitation. I may have to come out and meet some gun crazy east tn'ers
  7. Anyone have experience with a Versa Max 2?
  8. Uhhmm uuhhh uhhmmm uhhmmm uhh how about send them home?
  9. Welcome, i live in Jacksboro and work in halls
  10. I went to the DMV to get my address changed on my permit, and the lady said they couldn't print them there. (This was at the straw plains office) Any idea how long it will take to come from Nashville? I did this like two weeks ago and nothing yet. We're going on a 10 hr road trip into VA next week and I'd like to be able to carry up there. FWIW, the lady gave me a copy of the usual application with a sticker on it that says it acts as my permit until the copy comes in the mail. I don't really trust this to hold water in VA....
  11. I purchased my factory rebuild Sig 226 there, and also took the CC class there as well. I've not had an issue with them. The sig was priced fair, actually a little lower than what I had seen at a gun show I went to a few weeks before I bought the gun. Tamara, do you guys carry (or can order) any Milt Sparks holsters? I'd like to get a Versa Max 2 for my 226, but many places are out of stock online.
  12. I always cringe when I read the pro-immigrant argument of "we cant send x million people home!!" Maybe so, but we can start rounding them up today. Just look at how scared those in the article Tungsten posted were when just 20 were rounded up. They'll soon get the message that it is ILLEGAL to be here and they need to GTFO.

  14. Welcome. I live in K-town as well. I just recently took the carry class at Coal Creek Armory, over off of Lovell Rd. It runs from 11AM to 7PM, but we were out by 5 or so. I wish we would have gotten more range time, but just about everyone there was very experienced and didn't seem to mind leaving early. It was $85 and instructed by an Anderson county sherrif's deputy.
  15. Welcome! There's a few East TN'ers on here.
  16. I've played the drums for about ten years now. Hard to believe its been that long. Just recently found a steal on a MUCH nicer kit than I had, so I've been playing more than usual. Its a Pearl export kit with a full set of Sabian Paragons. My dad plays guitar, and is a "local celebrity" in my hometown cuz he plays music at least twice a week at various places, mostly bluegrass / gospel. He has a Martin D35, another acoustic I can't think of, a Gretsch, a Gibson Chet Atkins classic electric, and a couple others, plus some various amps and other sound equipment. He has played close to 50 years and I admire him very much. I just never really cared for the guitar, so I've never picked it up.
  17. Same here. Shot a box of it through the Sig last weekend, and it was flawless. I had it mixed in with some Winchester rounds, and I couldn't tell the difference when shooting. (both had similar loads)
  18. Lumpy got lucky, cuz KPD thinks the suspect also murdered another guy just a couple blocks away from that car lot.
  19. I had to get my mom to dig up my birth certificate. I went to the dept. of safety office Tuesday and waited about 20 minutes and THEN they tell me I need my BC. Back I go tomorrow.
  20. I kinda collect knives and have since I was a young boy. I wish I had all of my Case knives my family bought for me as gifts back in the day. Kershaw Ken Onion 1620 assisted opening. I've had this one for about a year and it is my favorite so far. Not too big, not too small. A little heavy though. SpyderCo Jester. This one keeps an edge a LONG time. Very small, but packs a huge punch (cut). Only about an inch long closed, so its good for days I have to break out the suit but want to carry a knife (and that's every day ) Benchmade 824. Mine has a serrated section near the handle that is uber sharp. This blade holds an edge pretty well too. Very light and doesn't take up as much room in my pocket as the Kershaw. Plus about 4-5 Case XX 2 and 3 blade pocket knives...
  21. East TN checking in. Yeehaw
  22. Anyone got the PDFs for the application? The dept of safety site is fubared right now and all of the useful links are dead. Maybe Cannon Focker can get this fixed for me.
